Im just looking for advice on a couple things. Firstly, I am taking duloxetine, pregabalin and cocodomal however I want to come off the cocodomal as I have been on these for such a long time and they are really causing havoc with my digestive system. Can anyone recommend how to stop taking these tablets safely and easily without having awful withdrawal symptoms? And what to take along side pregabalin to ease chronic pain?
My second question is regarding PIP, I work part time from home as my pain was too unbearable to work full time and travel in to the office every day. I applied for pip back in April and was wondering the likelihood of being approved with fibromyalgia? I understand the decision is based on how the illness affects you, I answered all questions honestly on how the condition affects me every day.
Any advice would be great?
Thanks ☺️

Hi Ashleigh I hope you are successful with your application if you are turned down I recommend asking for a mandatory reconsideration and seek professional help
I weaned my self of Co-codomol because I was taken the maximum dose every day. I started by cutting out 1 tablet for a week, then the 2nd week I cut out another 1 tablet, and so on. It worked for me, and now I am in no more pain than I was taking the Co-codomol, sometimes when it is severe I do take them but I never have to take the maximum dose, usually one or two doses a day works for me. Good luck in stopping them and hope your PIP claim is successful.
Hi Ashleigh94, yes your completely right to want to stop co codamol...it really messed up my stomach too, years ago, I was on tramadol before deluxtine and they are really bad on the stomach & bowel to...I had to reduce my dosage gradually from tramadol it took over 6mths because I had been taking them for many years...maybe have a chat with your GP, as we are all different and withdrawal from opioids doesn't happen over night.....however, the duloxetine have really helped me with my anxiety but I am also prescribed Nefopan which has also helped, they are apparently non addictive 😊...
Tbh I can't comment on Pregablin, I did try the Gabapentin but I am allergic to aspirin and anything that's got anti inflammatories in unfortunately Gabapentin made my stomach bleed with ulcers....also I don't believe in the pain clinic course I attended, if you have a bad back, then it applies but not with Fibromyalgia, they think by telling you to do meditation, positive attitude and exercise stretches that actually made my Fibromyalgia worse....and I can barely walk or use my hands most days....hence why its taking me hours to reply to you...
I wish you well for all that you do as we all suffer the same but in different ways with Fibromyalgia....
Good morning darling, for the pip have you filled the form by your self if yes you shouldn't, you need an adviser to fill it with you because there's a lot of tricky questions, but I hope you will get a good response
