Hiya everyone sorry I haven't posted for quite awhile I haven't been well with a trapped nerve in my neck plus 3 buldging discs plus taking 300mg pregabalin tramadol and topping up with liquid morphine 🥺..my consultant told me I had to give up my job and that they can no longer do anything for me being told that was like a stab in the chest I was heartbroken 🥺..I have found a lump just at the base of my head on the left side I've been told it's a fibro something cyst from one of the consultants I'm wondering if a lot of the pain I'm experiencing as well is from that cyst has anybody else experienced the same or similar at all?

did they say fibroid or cyst perhaps. Unlikely to be related to fibro but having the right name will help pin it down.

It may be a pilar cyst, I had one. It can be removed or it can disappear on it's own over time or it may grow to be a couple of centimetres wide. It's totally harmless if this is what it is.

Friend of mine had fibroid cysts in her boobs, they said they were benign but removed them anyway. They did say they could cause discomfort if they grew in the wrong place. I know all this as I had to go round and change her dressings as she is a blood fainter. I get cysts related to my lymph glands/nodes these are removed too and are painful if they are in the wrong place. There are loads of conditions on the Internet and my doctors refers to Google hypochondriac, he reckons it is best to let them diagnose and use the Internet to gather more information. He had a patient was sure they had bubonic plague turned out is was an infected toenail.

Thank you for you reply that's very helpful..spoke to my doctor on Friday and explained what my consultant had told me she said you can get a cyst when the fibromyalgia has flared up ...I told her that it's been there a while well since my serious neck pain started a year a go how long does a flare up last?

Glad you got an answer from your doctor explaining exactly what the cause is for the cyst.

There is a lot of information to take in when we go to see the doctors / consultants. I have started to take my boyfriend because he can remember more information than me.

But surely it would benefit us if what was said was wrote down so we could see it, so we are certain of what is being said. Fibro fog has a lot to answer for.

Thank you❤️ yeah I think they should to as when we come out from our appointment we only remember some of of what was said in the consultation. That's a good idea didn't think I could take anyone in with me with the whole COVID thing going on.. I'll remember that though next time. I received a letter with what was discussed at the consultation but hadn't mentioned the cyst 😳.
