Hi, what ear drops did your doctor prescribe?

Otrex, you can use olive oil if you've not got any drops

Hi there, I am guessing you have already spoke with your GP about this issue?

I am sorry but no one on this forum is qualified medicaly to answer your question. You really should be speaking with your GP.

I do hope you feel better soon. It sounds horrible xx

Hi I always have it, it is always in significant high concentration (titre) to indicate I have the condition chronically.

Hi, it looks like I'm the same as yourself! What does titre mean? Regards

It's just the concentration of virus units per millilitre of blood.

When I was younger I wore head phones a lot and that cased me to have blocked ears occasionally. I would get in a nice hot bath and sink down until the warm water could wash in and out of my ears. That seemed to help a lot and I never needed to syringe my ears or use drops. unfortunately no more soaking in a hot bath for me.I also had quite an old doctor then who still advised the use of cotton buds, I also did and still do this, his advice was to grip the bud firmly and wipe the walls of the ear until you hit the guard hairs but go no further, the bud always comes out waxy. Still no ear problems, maybe I just got lucky with me lugs.

But now this practice seems to be frowned upon, too many babies with perforated ear drums methinks.

Hi, when I was younger I was an audio typist and sometimes I think my problem could stem from that. What's your opinion please?

If that involved the use of those horrible little civil service issue head phones and just the wearing of headphones, which is a quite unnatural thing to do, it may have had an impact (on hearing).I have also found that people tend to have the volume turned way up in headphones and probably do not realise they are damaging their hearing, it doesn't need to be a giant Deep Purple (youngsters substitute an appropriately loud musician) style stage speaker that noise source in headphones is very close the the ear drum.

Hi. I would recommend seeing the doctor but I use warm olive oil to soften any wax and also a steam mug with menthol crystals to help unblock everything. I hope you get some relief soon.

Where would I get menthol crystals and a steam mug please. Thanks

Hi. I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to say company names due to advertising rules but it was a very well known online shopping site which has the same name as the 'Amazon' Rain Forest! 😂😂

I forgot to say, if you do get one, be careful how many crystals you put in. The first time I used it, I put in about half a teaspoon full and nearly blew my head off!!! I now just use one or two tiny crystals.

You have given me a flash back of my mother with her head over a bowl of hot water and menthol all covered with a towel. Steaming a head cold out of her wee head.

Oh those were the days! I remember doing that myself, followed by a hot bowl of Tomato soup. Always made me feel better. :-)

Hi, have you been laying down a lot. This happens to me when I have a flare up and spend a lot of time laying down. A good too is to massage your face with some pressure using your thumb. start at the base of your nostril and sweep outwards over your cheak as so you can feel your cheak bone, do it so it hurts and repeat numerous times and sniff as you do it. It does help a bit. I also find it difficult to close jaw line TMJ. Hope you get better soon x

Yes, I lie down a lot but at the same time it is my most uncomfortable position. I much prefer sleeping sitting up.

I would suggest your doctor for any ear stuff. not a good thing to mess with yourself. probably would benefit from Antibiotics.

Cheers, Midori

I was told years ago that if you messed with yourself you would go deaf. Omg it's true! (sorry couldn't resist)

You are welcome, after this post I'm having a furious internal debate as to whether chicken soup or tomato soup is nicest to have when you have a cold.

🐔🍅 Maybe try both!!!

Apart from adding to my girth I think eating the much would exceed my critical mass and I would explode (from both ends), might be worth it though 😀
