Update on citalopram

On second day. Taking half tab(5mg).So far has helped with pain around eyes. Early days and stuff has helped initially before but will keep updating. It's such a relief to get any kind of respite at the moment.

Hi TayloredI do hope this works for you. I have taken Citalopram twice for depression. The last time a locum doctor told me to come off it which I did. The withdrawal was horrendous. I then started with pains feeling very low. I was given mirtazapine which made me feel worse so I went back on Citalopram and I'm not coming off it. 😄. I am on 20mg a day no side effects and I do feel so much better. I am also on gabapentin which I have reduced to one 300mg once a day at night as it helps me sleep. Take care and comfy hugs. Lilly x

Thanks for your reply. Glad it's working for you. My GP suggested mirtazapine when I said I wasn't sleeping but I'm holding off and have been trying v low dose of this first. Still helping with pains round eyes.

How are you finding this? I have been given 10mg for anxiety but think I may start on 5mg.

Also started with 5mg but have reduced to an even smaller amount and even had a couple of days without as it was making sleeping difficult at first. It's definitely eased the pain round my eyes which is my worst symptom.
