Morning all,
I’m new to this Forum. I’ve had Fibromyalgia for over 20 yrs, but was only diagnosed with it in 2007.
I’ve also only recently been told that I have Allodynia?
Mechanical & Tactile?
Does anyone know or suffer with this please?
Zahida

I have pressure allodynia/hyperalgesia -burning pain when leaning on chairs, beds etc .I tried Nortriptyline which didn't help, started Duloxetine recently - helps a bit but I have lots of side effects from it
Hello and welcome, Sunday’s can be quiet on the forum but I hope you will soon have some replies, I hope as it’s recent the doctor will work with you on some meds that help x
A thousand welcomes to you. Ask anything you want, sooner or later a forum member will give you information. As we are not medics with any new pain you should get checked. Allodynia can be a bit of Fibro. Many of us get it without knowing the word.
Alodynia is a relatively common feature of chronic pain conditions and they can come and go. They can also vary hugely in severity, some people get huge bruising from seemingly light touches, it can be very distressing. I have Alodynia in my toes bizarrely, if I stub them they go almost black and then mysteriously go back to normal(ish) hours later. When it first happened i thought i must have broken them.
