im more aware that this is now causing most of my head symptoms. I snore badly and Im def clenching my jaw and clashing my teeth together at night. My ears are effected and its becoming bad. I would say Ive had this mild most of my life but its got worse over the last few years. Ive started on Duloxtine so hoping that will calm me down a bit but early days.
Any tips worth trying? If I can get muscle relaxants this is a temp fix? Splint really help? I was very relaxed last night so Im not going to sleep stressed.
Its really affecting my head.

I second a mouthguard. My dentist made one from me and it cost 180 I think. It lasted a couple of years and wore out. However I found a site called sleeppro and you can get a perfectly adequate mouthguard there for less than 20 pounds. It's not quite as long as the dentist one but does the job of protecting teeth. Wearing a mouthguard has helped stop headaches and neck and shoulder pain that I get from clenching teeth through stress related issues.
I have the same problem, I've just got a mouth guard which is very comfortable and is helping. If you get it on the NHS it takes you into band 3 charges which is £289! However the dentist did it as a private patient which was £100. Go figure!
Hi there - i have bruxism which started with stress at work and though my job changed 3 years ago wont go away. Firstly i had soft gum guards from my dentist, but i chewed them up like gum! Then i waited a looonnnggg time for an appointment at a dental hospital where they made me a hard gum guard which have had for 2 years. I think it doesn't work until i stop using it and realise it does really help - get yourself a dental hospital referral. i paid privately for several shots of botox which only reduced temporarily and i cant afford long term, i also had the chiropractor massage inside my mouth which helps. I tried ant depressants etc and nothing worked .
PS I'm very lucky i didn't have to pay for my hard dental guard ( not sure if it is called a splint or not) because i volunteered to be a guinea pig for the consultant teaching other dentists how to make them . This was at manchester dental hospital - even though I live 60 miles away. they have a TMJ clinic there
I used the Boil and bite mouth guards like the football players. There is also Zyppah (zyppah.com) that is similar that moves your lower jaw forward a tad. You will notice you cannot clench if your jaw is somewhat offset. So I used it for that so I would not clench all day long.
You can kind of do the Jaw offset with the Boil and bite mouth guards, just need to bite offset when you do!
