Ill health retirement from Nursing

Can anyone help me with completing my personal statement for my I'll health retirement from Nursing?

Would it not be better to seek some help from your union as they will have experience. Alternatively CAB may be able to help. Your personal statement will be relevant to you and also as this is your first post I am presuming you have fibro.

Hi there.

Are you applying for your ill health retirement pension? I am just waiting for HR to fill in part A now that I have had my contract terminated on incapability of ill health you are not able to apply before this is done but you may know this already, they will send it to my union rep as I have given them my consent to do so and my union rep is going to help fill the form in and type it online for me. (RCN rep) he is very supportive. Then parts A and B will be sent electronically to Occupational health for them to fill in their part and send off medical evidence to support my application. It goes off to an independent medical company and they take up to a month to decide if you are eligible to claim for your ill health retirement pension and which tier you will be awarded if eligible tier one or tier 2. You have a month to appeal if you do not agree with the decision.

You can also phone your union to help support you to complete the form.

ty for the extra info on this as I could remember from previous requests that there were multiple steps and ways to go wrong in the process. So best to be guided by union rep.
