We're in tier 2 but nearly surrounded by 4. Mother is now in extra care and things are actually more difficult with their restrictions.

Bright side is before Boris' latest orders I managed some time with Grandsqueak looking for nutcracker kings round town, then star gazing where she saw her first shooting star

I don’t ever drink alone - bro drinks enough for both of us, so I don’t bother 🤷‍♀️ We’re in Tier 2 here too, but I’m not going out now until after Christmas and that’s only if have to!

Aww how lovely for you and Grandsqueak (she must be getting more grown up now .... eeekk doesn’t time fly by?) to go out and actually seeing a shooting star - you didn’t see the Jupiter/Saturn alignment? Here it was cloud, cloud and yet more cloud, so not a hope.

As it hapened, we did, well nearly. They were visible and close together. I saw them alone Monday, the night I took the above pic. Christmas eve will be ok if the night's clear.She's more mature than I. Aged 8 going on 25.

No, not that posh. It was King Alfreds College, I think it is called Winchester University now. Happy days.

I used to work for the chair of governors at the time. Bishop of Winchester. John Cranmer was principal. Ad you observe, its all change

Yes he was principal when my wife and I were there. Lovely man. It was late 80s. They were great days.

Lovely man. He became a priest on retirement. One of the wisest things he ever said was " in organisations like ours, the less money you have, the longer it takes to count". Budgets, eh?

Is John Cramner still alive. I remember going to his house for lunch as I went to the college chapel. We were invited one Sunday after chapel.

Thank you for the lovely photo of Winchester Cathedral brought back some memories seeing this, my daughter was at Uni in Winchester and used to love seeing the cathedral especially the Christmas market in the grounds and was lovely to have her graduation there in Oct 2016! Cold, wet but managing. It tried to snow down here.Just enjoying 2 weeks off work with my electric blanket on my recliner and watching silly films

Indeed. Also been out on bike for short rides to clear a few cobwebs. Its been cold but lots of layers and hot baths . . .
