Painful Feet

My latest addition to my list of problems is 6 mos. of painful feet. Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing . I can't figure out if it is pmr, or a prednisone side effect. Started awhile back with what I thought was a fracture. Took two xrays and there isn't any sign of a fracture. Dr. wasn't sure what it was. Then pain started in the other foot and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitius .That was taken care of and then heel pain started in the other foot. Had a steroid shot and that fixed that. Now I have pain on the outside of each foot. Dr. said it was a problem with the ligament that runs along the outside of the foot and am now being fitted for orthotics at a cost of $300.

All of this seems just too much for it to be just problems with my feet, which by the way I never had before until I was diagnosed with pmr and put on prednisone.

I know pred. can affect the ligaments.

Any ideas would sure be helpful.

Thanks

Good morning Linny, I also suffer painful feet and used to have plantar fasciitius, I thankfully managed to get rid of that. I think painful feet are part of fibro as I never had any issue with my feet prior to fibro. I have regular reflexology to help with my feet, if I go quite a while without reflexology you feel this like bubbles under the skin that pop when she works her magic. Regarding the plantar fasciitius - the cure for me was to get my hormones back in line, I was seeing a nutritionalist that told me that, and to be honest I was quite skeptical, but at the time I had Estrogen Dominance, I had a test done privately to see how out of balance they were and purchased a medical book and Natural Progesterone.

I hope you get some relief soon x

I started suffering with painful soles of my feet recently. It has me thinking if it was something else but I think it is fibromyalgia. As I also get a vibrating feeling in the soles of me feet 24/7 like I’m standing in a vibrating phone.

I don't think my foot pain is new, but it's coming more into focus, because other things are better at the mo. The main thing that helps is twisting my body around the/each foot, to the left and to the right as far as I can. I have special insoles too, which didn't help much when I got them, but now I use them for a bit to get this down, altho I prefer not to wear them all the time, just for a few hours/days.

Hi Linny3

I too get pain in my feet and was diagnosed with motor neuroma started in my toes now in my feet and ankles podiatrist advised that it could be two different conditions. Currently waiting for pain relief injections. Sounds like you may have this I wear supports in my shoes which I was given which sometimes helps also I put my feet in cold water when really painful(not great) but does tend to help relieve them a bit. Apparently people who been very active and been on thier feet ( ie for work) for alot of thier lives are more prone to it and is common in people with fibro. Hope you find some relief from your pain soon.
