Worried sick

Hi, I’ve been having these awful worried sick feelings in the pit of my stomach.

My life is pretty stressful at times but I have these feelings, even at times when I really shouldn’t. My heart is pounding and my head feels lots of pressure, like I’m being choked!!!

Some night’s I feel as if I’m dying, not with pain, just a feeling!?!? Am I going crazy????

I don’t drink alcohol, tea or coffee so it’s not caffeine or false stimulation. This constant state of anxiety is driving me mad.

Any tips please ❤️

Hi Janette 😊🌿🌸🦋

No you’re not crazy. My brother has the same symptoms and was diagnosed with panic and anxiety disorder.

He hyperventilates and was told to breath in and out of a paper bag to recover from that symptom.

When we aren’t well ourselves and the whole world is under siege by a pandemic I believe there are countless people that are suffering from at least anxiety and/or panic problems.

One technique that is soothing and calming is too gently stroke your forearm from your elbow to your wrist. This can be done anywhere you feel the need.

Using essential oil of lavender in diffusers will fill the air in your home with calming affects.

If at bedtime you suffer these symptoms many doctors and nurses say that weighted blankets produce a cuddle sensation and a calming affect (here in the USA).

There are also meds that can be taken for this disorder once you’ve been properly diagnosed.

I hope that this will be of comfort to you.

Please take care and be safe sweetie.

Thank you so much I appreciate you answering my post. I’m definitely going to try essential oils, never thought of that and I’m aware of the benefits. Just everything seems to get lost in the fog and I need reminders when I’m feeling this bad. Going to try arm stroking too 🥰🥰🥰

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., Hello, I know that feeling too well, it’s pretty horrid when it’s happening, I finally found a med that suits me called Duloxtene, one tablet a day 60mg and it turned my life around , near enough nil anxiety now and coping so much better with conditions including fibro, have you spoke to your doctor on the phone ? and are you taking any meds at the moment to help, although I know it’s not for everyone. I do use essential oils, lavender being my favourite in bath, and facial cream, pulse points, headache balms of different smells, music on my iPad ie utube do some great relaxation music, glad you can have a chat here ,it always makes me feel better, I do find getting replies from members like our lovely honeybug very soothing. Perhaps see your GP and have some tests. Could be thyroid or hormone problems x

Thanks guys very much appreciated. I’m not good at speaking to my doctor on the phone but I will mention it to the district nurse! My meds are pretty strong. Don’t think more would help I’m pretty much housebound and don’t get out much at all. Will definitely try oils and take it from there. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi there.

Sometimes beta blockers help in small amounts to stop the panic attacks or certain antidepressants but would need to talk with the GP.

CBT can help with anxiety and its possible to do on line.

Agree re essential oils/sleep spray, music, anything you feel suits the way you tick.

These are super anxious times and of course its only natural to feel the way you do. Maybe the district nurse who knows you quite well could perhaps put in a word with the GP.

Your not going crazy Janette, I had all those symptoms you listed in your post. Do you have a sence of doom, its really horrid. I wonder if maybe with all the stress you are going through that maybe your Adrenals need a little help, Adrenal Fatique is absolutely awful, horrendous infact.

I really hope you feel better soon xx

Hi, thanks for your reply! Is there something that you can get to help with your adrenal fatigue. I most definitely have a feeling of Doom and it’s awful! Thanks again ❤️

When my adrenals were on the floor, I needed Hydrocortisone tablets, but after that its Vitamin C (I always used buffered vitamin c) this supported by adrenals and in the end they got back on track, out of everything I have suffered , adrenal fatique was the worst for me. Dr Barry Durrant-Petesfield (Thyroid and Adrenals) his book might be worth a read - I found it very helpful, he said that you can not take to much vitamin C, so If you are concerned on how to gauge how much you need, its not as big a problem as you think - I got up to ten tablets a day, when things were really bad, if you take more than your body needs, it gets rid of it straight away (I have experienced this) so I always knew when to cut back xx

I wouldn't neglect checking if it's anything physical, but cognitive behavioural therapy helped me to get my anxiety down (mainly various areas of social phobia), and in the last 7 years I've found how to trick my mind into Here-and-Now-mindfulness to get even pretty extreme fear of heights and similar & other remains of the social phobia like stage fright or problems with birthdays.. down to almost zero...
