Your gp will help put you on medication but it's all trail and error they fobbed me off aswell with the anxiety card but I was getting anxious due to severe pain I called ambulance a few times prior to, good news is it can't kill ya, docs try things like pregablin gabepentin amitriptyline which are anti seizure drugs or antidepressants to calm your nervous system down good luck with medication I hope you find right one don't be disheartened if you keep changing I do lately as not a lot works xxx duloxetine is another one aswell xxx

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hello there, I would differently seek out another doctor at your surgery if this one is not listening, it does come across so many time’s that doctor s don’t seem to accept fibro symptoms and fob us off , oh we are depressed or anxious, sometimes we actually get this way as fibro can have an effect on us to the point we get very down if we don’t get the right medical attention, your properly extremely tired with a young baby too. Pick up that phone and ask to speak to another doc, I can see you’ve already moved surgeries but persist or even get your partner to phone in , sometimes an extra nudge to get the message over, good luck and let us know how you get on , ive posted a link above if you want to lock your posts , that way only our community can see xxx

Nothing totally relieves the pain but I take Gabapentin during the day and an Amytryptiline at night. Top up with cocodamol when desperate.

So sorry you have joined the club no one wants to join. I think now you ahve a firm diagnosis it will be better for you as I sometimes think not knowing what is wrong is worse. It is according to what type of pain you are suffering with what can help. If it is more neuropathic eg burning, shooting, knifing pain Pregablin and Gabapentin if they suit you can usually dampen it down enough to make it much more bearable most days. I personally can't take them as my body seems to react against antidepressants but many have found that they help with the pain at a low dose and can also help with sleep.

I also have osteoarthritis and take cocodamal and ibuprophen. I found they also helped with the fibro pain but again what works for one doesn't work for everyone. Many people with fibromyalgia have low Vitaim D levels so sometimes a gp will prescribe those. I take a small capsule each day and have found it has helped me personally.

It is not a drug that the doctor will give you but I found that CoEnzyme Q10 a supplement helps with the muscle pain in my legs and others have found that magnesium spray also helps.

As the others have said it can be a bit trial and error to find what works best for you as we are all individuals. Good luck tomorrow.x
