Hi, applied for pip back in Feb. Had assessment 15 th July, they sent me text 3 weeks ago saying had received my report. Today I received letter from them saying they had everything they needed to make decision and would write to me again. My question is, if they have everything.... why haven’t they made a decision?? What happens next?

Hi there, yes I believe it is normal. They are just keeping you updated and letting you know they have have received your forms and have enough evidence to move forward with your claim. Good luck with the outcome 🤞🤞hopefully it will be the right one :)

This is normal practice. It is just acknowledging that your assessment report is now being looked at and they have all the required paperwork. Good luck I hope you get it.x

Capita or ATOS do the assessments for DWP. Once it is complete it goes to DWP and is queued for a Decision-maker to work on. Often the money appears in bank accounts before the letter arrives as they use a very slow delivery service that is far slower than second class mail to save money on postage.

If you look at the post mark it's from Ireland, always request a copy of your assessment report and on receiving it you can workout what you're award may should be but you still have to wait for the official award confirmation letter which can take up to 8 weeks.

I can’t believe you are still waiting but I agree sillysausage it won’t be long .

Hi yes they did this to me which seems a waste of paper and a couple of weeks or so later I received the award letter with their decision. Good luck x

Hello, I have mentioned this on several occasions, please once you have had your assessment phone the DWP and request a copy of your assessment report and on receiving it you can workout what you're award may should be but you still have to wait for the official award confirmation letter which can take up to 8 weeks or longer.

Hi farmerboy, I did phone dwp I their 0843 no, at start of call it stated cost would be 7p per min, then another announcement saying call was free..... anyway approx 20 min being in hold got text from virgin informing me I was nearing my 20.00 limit!!! So the call was not free or 7p per min. Once I have had my decision I will be kicking off, it is disgusting that a gov dept can use premium no’s!!!! So be aware what no you are given to contact pip xx

Calls to DWP as far as I know are free normally 0800 numbers you must have bring the wrong number. I have just checked my phone contacts and all the numbers for DWP are free either 0800,or 0300,I have never paid to call about ESA, PIP, local council, either your ringing the wrong number or your phone provider is over charging you look at another network I am with three paying £8 per month unlimited calls ant texts plus 8GB of data my wife on the same paying £9 a month.

Yes, certainly normal.

I think all benefits stuff got hugely delayed if not completed before lockdown. From your date sounds like once the came out of lockdown they did everything in a decent time (maybe not everyone’s idea of a decent time lol).

As suggested request a full copy of your report.

I had to request three times before they finally sent it!

Hope works out for you.
