Anyone else cut out/down on caffeine? Did it help your sleeping pattern at all?

Hi all! So basically when i got diagnosed with fibromyalgia my dr told me i should try to cut out/avoid caffeine as much as possible to help with sleeping.

Now I never really had much caffeine drinks in the first place (tea in the morning some days was my regular intake) so it wasn’t a huge deal to cut down almost completely.

I haven’t really noticed much of a difference in my sleeping pattern since cutting down but maybe because I was never drinking enough caffeine in the first place to impact it. Has anyone cut out/down on caffeine and have you noticed a difference?

I started having decaff tea in solidarity with my husband who had to drink decaff tea and coffee whilst having cancer treatment and we actually both enjoy it more it seems to have s cleaner taste. I also changed from drinking Pepsi to Sprite because of the caffeine. My sleep is still as poor but I somehow feel better in myself. I think some people's bodies react to caffeine differently than others so some get a better reaction. Certainly worth a try.x

After developing fibromyalgia, I became sensitive to caffeine as in my last cup has to be 8-9 hours before sleep. I still drink coffee every morning and it really helped me with fibromyalgia since it worked as a muscle relaxant but I've stopped drinking after noon.

If you don't have any allergy, I wouldn't necessarily recommend you to stop drinking coffee. There is a lot of controversy around coffee, some research suggests even drinking a cup first thing in the morning will affect your deep sleep, others promote the heart benefits or the level of antioxidants which is higher than in any fruit. I believe it's better to make your own decision as it depends on the individual.

And since we mentioned decaf, it's good to know that there is a decaf coffee that has been processed mechanically. It's called organic or Swiss water decaf.
