Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing good. Sorry for a long post but I am hoping I can get some guidance from the members of this community

I had Vitamin D deficiency beginning of March and had pain in chest and arms, lower body due to various reasons ( could be gastric, or due to few stretches I did around that time) but all that is settled now and am now left with aching hands.

My G.P suggested a month back that since the pain has been so widespread I might have fibromyalgia and asked me to read up on it and come back so that we can start antidepressant treatment. I personally don't think I have either fibro or depression. But I understand how antidepressants can help in treatment.

Would like to know the community view on my situation - Currently, I have tingling and burning numbness in my hands and occasionally arms. I can sleep perfectly well and I feel my hands are mostly fine when i wake up. As I start my day, the feeling comes back. Sometimes it's fine and when I use my hand to work on computer or physical work - tingling and numbness comes back. It doesn't hurt much (not like pain but strange burning heavy feeling) these days but tingling and heavy feeling is there. Is that what happens in fibromyalgia or its pain?

Has anyone experienced the same?

Also occasionally veins in my palms appear more prominent than they used to. ( I am not sure if it's worth mentioning as my husband's also have veins appearing and he is fine. Just that it isn't my normal - or maybe I never noticed before.)

My BP is also high ( 140+/99) but GP said it couldn't be causing these and could be dealt later.

I am definitely stressed since March but I can sleep well and calm myself most of the times. Not sure if hand tingling is stress induced, physical symptoms or firbo.

I have to get back to my GP and thought I would ask this community of what they think.

I have already had blood test end of April and everything was normal in that. But since then I had been in lot of stress and had been on high vitamin D so am wondering if I could be low on magnesium? How frequently can one request test in NHS? Not sure if I can get another test as GP's seem very confident of my results.

Many Thanks.

Do you do repetitive work? That can cause carpal tunnel. There are exercises you should be able to Google to help prevent carpal tunnel. What they do is stretch and strengthen your hands. You should start to feel relief shortly afterwards. It's worth a shot. Good luck!

I had a trapped nerve in my neck, which combined with tennis elbow used to give me tingling & numb hands. Usually fine in morning, got worse as day went on

Yeah, seems similar nerve for me too. Did you get it sorted? How?

I saw an osteopath.

I have compressed discs in neck which give similar problems. Regular chiropractor appointments seem to keep me comfortable and I have certainly got considerably worse since lockdown :( but at least the chiropractor is open next week :)

How long have you been having this issue for? Seems I might have same nerve trouble as yours. Will watch for few weeks and book an appointment if doesn't get better.

I had a MRI scan a good few years ago. I had previously had surgery for carpal tunnel which was unsuccessful- hardly surprising as the problem was and is my neck. I really need monthly chiropractor appointments as that keeps me comfortable but as I have missed them since lockdown it will take weekly sessions to get me back to where I should be. I use bio freeze and hot wheat bags to help relax the muscles as they get tight with the neck pain.

There is a simple test for carpal tunnel, Google Phalen's Maneuver

I have ME and fibro. I have tingling sensation in my lower legs. First I tried an oesteopath then after brain scans and a pile of other tests I was diagnosed with fibro. I am now taking Duloxetine which is often used for depression and pain. It's made a big difference, I also take Diclofenic when the pain is not under control, I'm sure if I didn't have the ME I would be heaps better but at the moment I am too exhausted to sleep!!!!! Hope you get somewhere with this, best of luck😊

thanks. Hope you get good sleep. try epsom salt baths and mg supplements if you don't have any other health condition. Helps with sleep!

Hi, I can totally understand. i can go on and on with my struggle with docs. But I guess at the end of the day there are so many things even they can't help with. I had so many issues myself with low vitamin D and with time things seem to be kind settling in.

Hope you feel better soon. I will deal with my hand tinglings for now

yeah I read a bit and seems more like cubital to me. will keep an eye and see if i can have a chiropractor visit if it doesn't get better in few weeks.
