Council tax

I got a statement today from Council tax and it’s gone down by £20 a month stating it’s because of benefit change. I applied for pip but not heard anything for 12 weeks now. Can anybody tell me if this has anything to do with pip.

Hello

At the beginning of lockdown l received a letter saying that household in receipt of council tax support benefit would receive a deduction in council tax bill it was up to £150 pounds for the year. I think it depends on what your local council decides to do to support low income households at this difficult time.

I just received a letter today saying they were changing the amount due to a benefit change. There has been no change! I just had my PIP updated with no change in amount. Not that I shall complain since it means paying significantly less.

That hardship fund exists every year but they are reluctant to use it most years.
