Can I claim any type of financial support

Would I be able to apply for PIP?

I can do most things but sometimes my pain is so bad I'm out of work for 3-5days. I find it difficult to cut hard vegetables, pick up the full kettle, bend down and pick stuff up...sometimes pains so bad I cannot get comfy standing up, laying down ot or sitting. I'm on medication but not really working yet. The pain wears me down so much itself that I dont want to do anything... or it's so bad my husband can't hug me. Loads of times I've smashed cups and plates because i somehow lost grip.... I'm struggling with my life right now.

I tried doing a practice assessment online but said I wouldn't get pip ?

My husband earns more than me but I need my own money to pay for the other house Bill's.

Any advice appreciated

Download the PIP descriptors. Keep a diary for a couple for a couple of weeks noting anything you need help with. This can be anything from making the bed to washing your hair. Remember any task you do should be able to be done in a reasonable time, without pain and you should be able to do it repeatedly. At the present time it may be difficult to get help from the normal sources. My advice at present would be gather evidence in the form of a diary and doctors letters etc.

Thank you for your response, I will read through the link in a moment.

Just to clarify ;

what would I need for evidence?

Should I ring to start the application now and track / get evidence after until the time for my assessment or next stage?

Hi there, any doctors or specialist reports would help and maybe who diagnosed you. Any x-ray's and what medication you have to take.

I would definitely email the benefits team and I have editd that post to add that the helpline is available on wednesdays but you can email at any time.

Start your claim now, gather evidence in the meantime, read the guidance online on the gov.uk website and Citizens Advice. The form is quite long and took me ages to complete but the more detail you can give, the better.

Look at your life as if it isn't you, but someone else you are advising. Then start making notes.

I went through all the meds I'm on, thought about why I'm on them and what impact there is on my body. If it's easier, start at the top of your body and work down, noting any issues.

Finally get your husband 6read through what you have written - its easy to miss out the obvious.

Good luck!

I would definitely apply for PIP.

If you are struggling then you need help. I would say think very carefully about what you put on the form, write down exactly how things effect you. It’s not income based so it won’t matter what your husband earns or you 😀good luck x
