Always ill

I've been constantly ill with varying viruses or infections since the beginning of September with no let up. Think I'm now getting tonsillitis. Does anybody else find that they fall ill all the time or should I be concerned?

I completely get you, I do all the time and it's super frustrating! My partner jokes that it's like I'm made of 'paper.' I've started taking echinacea recently and its definitely helped boasting my immune system. Vit D is mean to be good too which I take.

Hope you feel better soon xx

I can sympathise as it seems endless. I will get the flu and then that will develop into a severe chest infection (just getting over another bout). I then feel absolutely drained for weeks and will just about recover and I catch something else. Life is rough enough with fibro without this.x

I have always been as long as I remember, worst was pmt everything. That has gone and I have got 5 more conditions. Given up medications and take each day as it comes 🤣🌻🥀🌻

Hi have had constant chest infections since 1st week in November which doesn't seem to clear up before its flared again. Saw doc monday who gave me clarithromycin antibiotics half way through them now. Had a reducing dose if steroids in December which usually sorts me out. My ribs are sore from coughing so I do feel your pain. Hope we all feel better soon, roll on spring xx

I have been ill quite a few times with bronchitis / colds / general aches and pains. I don’t know if we are more susceptible to catching things? 🤔

Hi there ......I’m fairly new to all this and haven’t been formerly diagnosed though my GP thinks it’s very likely I have FM........just waiting for a hospital appointment .......but I had a very bad cold virus that lasted over 4 weeks recently .....every time I thought I was over it then I would start coughing and sneezing again.... and I’ve never experienced anything like that before . Generally I take Beechams flu tablets for a few days and I’m ok .....but not this time . Some think that it’s harder to get over viruses and other illnesses when you have FM and I’m sure that is true in my case so maybe yours also .. saying that there are some horrible things around out there so it’s so hard to say .......hope you’re feeling a little better ....much love x

Hiya and Happy New Year 😊. I hope to make you feel better by letting you know you not alone. My spleen was removed when I was 8 years old so my immune system is rubbish. Since October I was sick 7 weeks - in and out of infections. Simple cold recently went on my ear and ended up being chest infection. Than I can't eat properly = don't have energy=can't do my gentle exercise to prevent flare up= I get a flare up= I feel even more crap. As you can see it's a chain reaction.

Talk to GP , extra vitams to boost your immune system , keep moving - even if walking outside and keep warm.👍😊

Hope this helps.

Have you had your thyroid levels checked? Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's, when untreated or under medicated, cause sufferers to pick up infections far more than is usual.
