Flare up!

Hiya everyone! Hope your all having a good day! Need some advice, I decided to help my mum reorganise her bedroom yesterday, so a lot of physical exertion involved, woke up today needing my partner to lift me on and off the seats, take me to the bathroom and have my sister shower me, I was in so much pain I had a breakdown in the shower, I was inconsolable, I am still in agony now, my spine feels life it’s in a vice being crushed and my arms are so sore it hurts to pick up a coffe cup, I have taken my CBD tablets but there not even touching the pain, what more can I do to ease my pain?

Hi Sarah yes have been there done that! I have learnt over the years to pace myself more - I helped with painting the hall last week but only did an hour a day! Because if I do more I crash and burn - all my chores are done in sections - hate restricting myself and want to finish things but I just get too much pain - now you have to rest , chill out de-stress and keep moving (gently) - I do happy things like meeting someone for coffee, meet friends , I read, paint (art) and do less for a couple of days - hope you feel better soon neese x

Basically you have overdone it in trying to help your Mum and the Fibro is punishing you for it! It is a wakeup call to ell you you need to ration your energies. It happens to me from time to time.
