I’m 21 years old and a year ago I was suffering with panic attacks and heart fluttering / powerful beats etc . This came to a stop but got replaced with chest and rib pain / collar bone pain. It always hurts . Then it spread to near enough every part of my body , my face even hurts , even the skin above my eyes , my ears etc . I went back An for to the doctors An wasn’t really getting anywhere until someone suggested fibromyalgia. I went to a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with this an I’ve started on duloxetine , I was on 30 mg for 4 weeks an saw no improvement an now it’s been upped to 60 mg . I’m finding it so hard, can anyone relate x

In my 20s i had really horrible panic attacks as you said very scary...

I read a book "Self help for your nerves" by Dr.Claire Weeks....you can still buy it...

It tells you how to cope its so simple and works....you do all yourself ...and when that panic attack is stopped before it begins the feeling is elation.

No gimics no drugs just how to handle yourself......less stresss less pain less drugs.....

Try clicking on my icon and reading my posts. I had chest palpitations for years (they would come on in the evenings out of nowhere), I really thought it was an issue with my heart like it was going to jump out of my chest, racing even though checking my pulse it was normal. I was scared but also at the point of thinking a fatal heart attack would also be an end to the rest of pain and depression I was suffering from so it was along time before I had it investigated.

Have you had an ECG? Rule out an issue with your heart?

It turns out for me it was all part of the muscle and fibrous tissue pain I was suffering from. I focused on connecting with my Base-Line muscles. Pelvic floor Base, rectus abdominis Line. These muscles are are core pillar of strength (according to my theory) and if we don't fully use them other muscles try to take the strain, including the chest and costal muscles.

Good to hear about the ECG's were normal. It was quite a relief for me to know after waiting so long to get checked.

Focusing on your Base-Line muscles then the other main muscles of movement - trapezius for the upper body, gluteus maximus and rectus femoris for the legs whatever you are doing will develop the connection between mind and body. A little bit of anatomy to look at, but once you have located the muscles on your body it will start to make sense (I hope)

Yoga, ti chi, ballet - whatever you fancy - anything that gets you using your body, working from your Base-Line -the "center" of your body from where the rest extends. It's not a quick process if you're not used to using these muscles but it will be worth it!

Have you had your thyroid checked and got the results yourself, also vitamin D, B12, ferritin and folate?

Get your results and check yourself as doctors' normal can be wide of the mark. Also, look into Costochondritis but I would check your D levels too.

Blood tests for D. Unsure about Costochondritis but you could ask your doctor about it or Google it.
