I am currently a College student and I am afraid not to be able to handle the 9 subjects that I selected for the semester because of fibro and I don’t know if I should choose less. But I feel sad to have to quit because of the sickness. I have been feeling really anxious due to this.

Uni and fibro
Go to student advisory service and talk to them about options
Maybe speak to welfare dept at college and ask their advise..
Don’t quit you will regret it later . I’ve had fibromyalgia for over 20 years you just have to play it by ear . You need to discuss it with a advisor at the college. My friend did for her daughter. The college even arranged for someone to carry her bag for her. Best of luck 😊
Hi al1212,
There's a lot of help out there. I was diagnosed with fibro whilst I was studying and was able to apply for disabled student's allowance. I had an assessment to determine my needs, and was given equipment to help (ie. a laptop, ergonomic mouse, chair and rising desk (so I could stand when I couldn't sit for too long). You can also talk to the college about your needs, and the kind of help you think you'll need to get through the course. I also had a mentor, who helped support me through the course and made useful suggestions.
Hope you find the help you need. Good luck x
Don’t quit , just adjust .. if you can do it part time yes it takes longer but you will feel rewarded.. I did uni with fibro and still am , my uni had an option of a two day full time study or a four day and I found that doing a two day was so much easier. Talk to student support , apply for disabled student allowance etc you will be surprised on what they can help with such as recording of lectures etc which means you can attend record etc so if your not feeling at your best you can play it back and take notes at another time. They can offer stop the clock breaks in exams etc working with the uni will make things so much easier to you than just giving up
