In regard to grief in the workplace, has anybody ever been referred to a Fibromyalgia clinic, of any sort?

Haven't heard of a fibro clinic, I wish there was. I haven't worked for nearly 4 years now, not due to fibro but mental health. My e.s.a. Benefit was stopped last November and getting 73.10 a week but taking d.w.p. To court and the hearing is next Thursday. A lot of fibro sufferers have to give up work in the end, let's hope you can stay in work as getting benefits is so hard. I was at last diagnosed in February 2017, I hadn't been diagnosed until after my benefit was stopped, ridiculous as obviously fibro is a debilitating disease and also affects mental health more so. I "had" (long story...) to join several Facebook groups related to fibromyalgia (my hope was to eventually find a "face-to-face" one, no luck so far). From what I read I understood there is one in Bath, and I seem to remember one up North. The one in London is run at Guy's hospital (fairly new I seem to remember). Run a google search. They normally ask you to be referred by your GP once your fibro has been confirmed. Theres no harm though once you find a thread, to follow it up yourself and take it from there. All the best xx

Worth getting a gp appointment ASAP hopefully the doctor will refer you to a pain clinic or rheumatologist to get prove of your condition and hope he/she can help with a letter as well for employers, sorry to hear you are getting grieve still seems people are finding it hard with their employers to get them to acknowledge Fibro x take care in the meantime
I have been referred to the fibro clinic at Guy's, first appointment this coming Wednesday, of which employer has been well informed as well as forwarded all relevant papers. thanks YASMINTINA xx
I also forwarded extracts from the clinic website (where fibromyalgia is a specific section), and where it's clearly stated appointments will only be given upon criteria been met by medical records (aka they have to be satisfied your medical records PROVE that you do have the condition).
I was referred to the rheumatologist dept at Guys Hospital & on my 3rd appointment I saw a rheumy who was a specialist in fibro, she diagnosed me. I asked about a referral to the fibro clinic but she said I would just see her again so no need. I have however got a place on the 4 week pain management course in Oct.
After the appointment I got a copy of the letter sent to my GP detailing the diagnosis & I gave work a copy of this, which was accepted & adjustments made to help me.
