Another newbie - does anyone get any lumps / swelling or bruises?

Hi there, I have recently been diagnosed with fm and I was wondering if anybody gets any lumps, swelling or bruises which last a couple of days then disappear. When I see the Rheumatologist she could not explain and has referred me to a Dermatologist. I'm hoping somebody may spread a little light on the matter.

Welcome Moomin! I do get lumps under my arms sometimes but then they disappear. They get itchy too when they appear but they feel under the skin. Do check for things like Cushings and thyroid problems as they can have overlapping symptoms with FM. X

Thanks for replies i will keep an eye on it. My thyroid is ok never heard of cushins. When the lumps appear i cant get gp appointment and then when i get appoint the lumps disappear. My gp see them once and didnt have a clue and thought could be a infection and gave me antibiotics.

Yes I think mine was a sebaceous cyst (not sure if I've spelt it right!). they say Cushings is very rare but things to watch out for are fatigue, weight gain, high blood pressure and high Cortisol. X

Lumps under the arm sounds like Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have this and for several years, it was just itchy lumps. Then 3 years ago, they started getting infected and scarring. One school of thought says it is idiopathic blocked sweat glands/follicles but another school of thought says it is autoimmune, where the follicles are attacked by antibodies...

The pictures on google are horrendous but a lot of people never get past stage 1, so please don't pay much mind.

Since I have been on certain medications I get random bruises it’s all very strange

Hi there, Hidden my hubby gets bruising due to his medications for a past heart attack. Would it be rude to ask what medication you take. Please ignore the question if you don't wish to say xx

Hi no thats ok. The gp prescribed me amitripyline 10mg have only been on them for 3 weeks not too sure if the help but i think they can take a few weeks to work. I also take ibuprofen and paracetamol and pain relief gel.
