Having blood pressure taken

Hi please can anyone help me I have fibro and painful arms and having blood pressure taken is excruciating painful i have tried the ankle which is not quite so painful has anyone had this problem??

Has anyone had it dobe with the finger device or other way

Recently I had an hospital admission and I too found having my blood pressure taken excruciating, my B/P was so high they took it again, so I had to go through the pain again. Tried breathing through it, it came down enough to have my op, but it was still high. At my docs appointment she took my B/P with the older style pump, dial and stethoscope, this wasn't half as painful and my B/P was only marginally high.

I've had bruises when I've had it taken that often.

Yes, it's very painful. I'm under the hospital for my blood pressure, and I dread my appointments.

I have this all the time. It's due to the blood pressure been too high. Hopefully your GP will find the right medication to help keep it under control for you xx

I’m same it’s so painful to get it done. Feel like pulling it off. But I never say anything I always thought everyone had same problems with it. But now got arthritis and fibromyalgia I no it’s the reason why it hurts 🙂

Yes I find it very painful

Went to the syncope clinic and had it taken on my first two fingers which wasn't too bad, alongside on my arm which did hurt. Now I have to have a 24hr monitor on and I'm in tears thinking about it

Hurts doesn't it and my doctor does it three times and takes the average. Sometimes she does even more because my blood pressure is so low and she wants to double check it. Iget pins and needles in my hands when it's done. Don't know what the answer is except to say when I use the one my OH has at home it doesn't hurt nearly as much.

I have had this problem for years, it is down to the fibro. Using the old pressure cuffs is less painful than the automatic ones they use now, hard not to cry out in pain when they use them at hospital. I do not have any blood pressure problems.
