Sensitivity to smells

Hi,

As part of whats going on with me I have become really very sensitive to smells and can no longer use the skincare products that I have, and my skin has started to react to them too. So I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good skin/shower products that are scent free? And hopefully ones that wont irritate my skin too. Seems to be a huge ask, but fingers crossed.

How do you deal with this if you have it too? Would love any tips.

Thank you :)

there's a range of baby products that i've seen shared on a few groups recently that is really sensitive to skin, and people seem to be finding it helps. I think the name has *farm* in it (but not 100%) ... if i can find it I shall add the name.

I love Lush's dream cream as a moisturiser and it doesnt affect the dermatis on my face xx

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I will have a search for those :)

Is the Lush cream quite lightly scented?

Thanks again :)

dream cream is - and if you ask them for a sample pot, they will give you some for free to try before you buy a large pot xxx

Tricky one regarding skin - I saw a dermatologist and she gave me some prescription creams to help. Waitrose have a baby cream called I think Bottom Butter (have put in a different jar so not sure now). Bit like the sudocrem but gives lovely soft skin on face! Have to say for me it is not all the time as my fibro symptoms change. I too have sensitive nose occasionally and more often very sensitive to certain noises. I have to use odour free cleaning products at home and usually find recipes for them on line - the good old fashioned remedies.

Thank you for your reply :) something like sudocrem never even crossed my mind, thank you!

And I never thought about cleaning products either, every time I've had to use any beyond some washing up liquid I've just had to suffer. Will definitely be looking up some remedies, thanks again :)

Most cleaning can be done with vinegar, sodium bicarbonate and washing up liquid. Other than that I use jiff original which is very lightly scented.

Dear Shaddix, I have been allergic to any strong smells for years, and yes, that even includes any skin creams or shower gels. Also hair-washing products, and cannot get near any gas or petrol. I use coconut oil on my face, and lately, also an magnesium cream for skin. Also aloe vera gel. The only perfume I can take is Lavender. I cannot take any fresh flowers, only artificial ones. I can lose my breath quickly, near anyone with strong perfume on and nearly pass out completely if there is any gas in the room. It is really a case of test and see what you can endure. Be wise. sincerely, Roselil

Hi Shaddix, I have used soap and glorys cleansing milk for years and have no problem with it. I have also just started to use superdugs vitamin e skincare range for face and body moisturiser. I am super sensitive to sound, smell and light after many years of chronic migraine as well as fibro. Supermarkets are a nightmare for me. All the best

Back in 92 when I got pregnant with my daughter I really developed a highten sense of smell. I thought it was due to my pregnancy🤰🏼I later learned that I had fibro and hightened sense of smell was common with both conditions. I felt sorry for dogs because this new found ability to smell each persons pheromones and everything else would make me sick. I had to switch to all unsented soaps, deodorants stopped using perfumes and my ex had to stop wearing cologne. After I had my daughter I felt better but still have a highten sense of smell. I use lighter sented perfumes, soaps and deodorants. 🤗💕🦋
