Hi zita71 I was diagnosed with Benign essential tremor a few years ago, I had hand tremors for years but put it down to nerves and anxiety but as soon as I described it to my doctor she said that was what she thought it was. She referred me to a neurologist, who asked a lot of questions asked me to to walk in front of him, then he checked my reflexes and got me to write some words down.. After all that he agreed with my doctor that it was Benign essential tremor.

I hope your doctor refers you to the neurologist and they can put your mind at rest

Gentle hugs Rosie xx 😊

I get it some days. Vitamin B compound is a treatment used in hospitals for tremors for alcohol withdrawal and for malnourished patients. It replenishes the nervous system so it might work for you. Not enough hours sleep also gives me the shakes. Some medication can give you the shakes too. Sometimes it's just trial and error to discover what's causing it. Blood tests will tell you if you have any vitamin deficiencies.

I had hand tremor when I had B12 deficiency. It was one of the first symptoms to go after I started self injecting ( following advice on Health Unlocked Pernicious Anemia) It stopped within 5 injections, along with the tinnitus which I'd thought I had permanently.

Gabapentin seems to make my fingers shake slightly. Might just be me.

I have suffered with this for years, I find it frustrating and embarrassing but have decided just to tell folks, this way I avoid awkward moment s when I can't take a cup etc. Not sure of the cause though.

You don't mention if you are on any pharmaceutical drugs. I had a Parkinson's like Tremor and GP just said it was age but this was so severe, I stopped going out and seeing people. I became my own advocate and through process of illimination, I discovered it was Nortryptaline anti depressants that had been given me as a muscle relaxant. I was also deficient in Vit B12 though the Dr said I was fine. I supplement Vit B12 and came off Nortryptaline. Tremor gone. My feeling is that many times, people are given medical ailments caused by drugs and Drs never look at the drugs so if you are on any research them first. Good luck!

Hi! I developed a benign tremor in both hands which was very distressing, apart from all the other health issues I have associated with severe esophilic asthma & severe pain which I have had to increase doses of Pregabalin & Amytriptilline since choosing to stop Morphine. The Neurology dept were convinced from day one that it was associated with several meds. I managed to drop the Amitriptilline & halve the Pregabalin dose & within 4 weeks my tremor has GONE! It was so bad that I couldn’t get food to my mouth on a fork or spoon without steadying my left hand with my right. SO embarrassing & upsetting. This had come on in just over a year. I can’t believe it’s gone!!

Good luck to you maybe finding the cause that you can do something about..

Back in 1994 at my first fibromyalgia support group one of the ladies there said “oh I see you have the fibromyalgia tremors.” I never really thought much about it at that time but over the years I have learned that tremors go hand in hand with fibromyalgia. My blood sugar tends to drop from time to time causing tremors. I do not have diabetes, just go hypoglycemic from time to time. 🤷🏼‍♀️
