Hi there and welcome I have sent a link for you to read and hope it is helpful to you healthunlocked.com/fibromya... I hope everything goes well for your home visit , do let us know how it goes. If you would like to lock your posts so only our members can see here's the link to explain. healthunlocked.com/fibromya... Good luck

Are yu looking for some tips for the visit? Make yourself a word document of how your illness affect your daily life, assessors seem to assess us on how we cope and not what we ail. Dont leave any stone unturned (I included personal hygeine struggles) I use nearly all of my PIP allowance to make my home easy for me to get around and kitchen set out that suits my condition, same with bathroom, front door access etc etc thats what they will assess..Let us know how it goes hun..

Hi Nurse Gladys.

I use all my DWP to make my house more suitable for my disability .

I.e. Put a walk in shower in in stead of bath, paid £3500 for it.

To only loose the higher rate of mobility due to the fact of loosing 4 points for not need help to get in and out of the bath anymore, even though I have a shower seat, my husband has to do my feet and on bad days he helps me get in and out because I trip up my feet don't lift far enough up, due to back injury.

They took great pleasure in telling me this was why I list the 4 points and my car, and higher rate.

So if I new what I know now would have never have done it or not been honest and told the truth.

did you emphasise these points in your assessment? Its how we cope they need to know not what ails us.

Oh yes I did in writing as well just ignored it.

Told them it was a 2 inch step as we couldn't afford to make it a wet room.

And also when ATSO came to house they asked if they could check it, obviously I said yes.

They made things so hard to cope with the way my assessment was done was not expectable.

But all we got back was she has agreed to retaining.

I raised this more than once, but there answer was because I had good and bad days they concluded that I didn't have more than 6 months out of the year bad enough.

Make of that what you can.

At the time I had a a very big operation a heamatomer and other problems to cope with at the time .

I think they just bank on you not going to a tribunal sometimes.

Anyhow think the time is coming to go back very soon I am waiting of some results just now.

If they can do anything to make things better that will be great would rather have that than the money.

Make sure you have someone to answer your door because if you do it yourself you loose.

I have read so many times that this has happen.

Be yourself and be like you would be on the bad days.

Let's face it we all have good days bad days and in between days, but they only see you on this day!.

Best of luck
