Hi, I'm new here...has anyone tried something like this? It's expensive for me but would be worth it if it helps!

It's a lot of money but if it works! My hands are so achy now - if I hold something for too long in the same position I get really bad cramps and pain xxx

Alexandra96 in reply to DanielleGemma

Exactly what I thought! You can get one for £30 that's just for your hands I think, I want one for my feet too tho so it's more expenny xx

Hmmmm good point! What pains do you get in your hands and feet? xx

Alexandra96 profile image
Alexandra96 in reply to DanielleGemma

A mixture, constant stiff achy joints in my fingers and sometimes throbbing pain or random shoots of pain starting in my fingers or toes that shoots up my arm/legs.. and also (this is the worst one) like super sensitivity to touch...feels like a carpet burn all over my hands or feet but a few layers deeper...tricky to explain! Xx

About the same I think. I've always wondered if I have arthritis or something similar as it's those kind of symptoms xxx

Me too, still got a hundred doc appointments till I'll get anywhere tho 😩 xxx

Will do love xx

what an interesting concept that is

Apparently it works as heat therapy and helps sooth your soreness! The only thing that helps my hands/feet when they're painful at the moment is a hot damp towel so I feel like this would be great 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

in reply to Alexandra96

I think I shall purchase one

Quite a coincidence - I just mentioned wax treatment to someone who had posted about sore hands. But only saying I'd heard of it and it sounded nice, but never had it myself. Didn't know there was a home version. Interested to hear from anyone who buys one (I need a new heated pad - my son broke my old one, and some contraption for stretching my calves/Achilles so that's my gadget budget blown for the month).

Ah man, will let you know if it's worth the buy for next month 💁🏻 x

Cool let me know! I would be really interested as something has to ease this bloody pain even if it is wax!

These are excellent.I have used one for a few years .Not only does it help soothe pain but leaves your hands wonderfully soft.

Some makes are expensive but you can get just as good brands for half the price of this one.

I know that recenently acquired one of these.I have tagged her into this post so she will see it.

I am sure if you asked her she woukd give you details of her purchase.

Take care.

Thank you! Yes I've seen ones for about £30 but not big enough for feet as well which is what I want. If there is a cheaper one big enough for feet I'd love to know though! Xx

I think that the one blue got was big enough to do feet too.

Alexandra96 profile image
Alexandra96 in reply to

It's just paraffin wax, it's the heat that helps, this one smells like oranges but you can get more plain basic ones xx

in reply to Alexandra96

next question Alexandra96 where do you buy it? I,ll rub anything in if it helps!!

I had four sessions of hot hand wax treatment through physio and I found it really eased the pain and swelling I get from osteoarthritis and fibro. I didn't know you could get one privately for that reasonable price I may have to ask for one for my birthday. hugs Joolz.x

Alexandra96 in reply to hebden

That's good news! How long did it ease the pain for? Xx

hebden profile image
hebden in reply to Alexandra96

Well because I have to use crutches to walk not long because I had to walk to the other end of the car park to get home but I think using one at home could be beneficial and used as much or little as you need. Cant wait for my birthday I may order one today. Thanks. Hugs Joolz.x

Ah that's a pain! Yes at home sounds much better for you! I don't think it'd hurt using it frequently either so will hopefully be a great purchase, hope of helps you xx

Hi there, wax works well if your hands feet are sore we used it in college when I was training to be a nail technician. To be honest with you I actually haven't looked at the benefits of this with fibro. But all it is is wax so burn afew candles grab a paint brush and try. Think we used clingfilm to wrap hands after wax is applied. Don't waste money yet :). Let me know if you try this and of course if it works. Xx

I feel like the heat won't stay if I'm just painting it on tho 🤔 like the wax wouldn't keep it's heat for very long, will wrap it in plastic after though that's a good idea! Xxx

in reply to Alexandra96

If you do buy the wax treatment could you let me know if it works please. I've got serious problems with my left hand can't even use it most days. Xx

Sure thing xx

The physio wrapped my hands in a towel and I sat for 10 to 15 minutes with it on before unwrapping and peeling it off. Im not sure painting it on would have the same effect on pain. It does make your skin soft though.

Hi Alexandra96, nice to meet you lovie 😊.

I'd not heard of the wax bath but having read all the replies you've had I think I might try and get one too. The thought of painless hands sounds like a little piece of heaven as my OA is playing up right now.

Hugs to you xxx

Alexandra96 profile image
Alexandra96 in reply to Fallabella

Hi :) I agree! I think it'll create some instant relief and will sooth it for a little while but won't fix for long, less pain is still worth the buy though! If it's just your hands you want it for you can get a cheeper one than this xx
