Hi mercy53

I think your best bet would be to get some professional help on this question.

Are you able to get to the CAB and ask them your question?

I guess it would depend upon what your PPI contract says.

Good luck. I hope you are able to find some answers.

You're welcome :)

You know how insurance companies like to get out of paying if they can.

The CAB are pretty knowledgeable so I hope they can help you.

You need to check your policy to see what you are covered for but usually you have to be off work for at least 30 days before you can make a claim. Also if you had already been diagnosed with fibro when you took out the policy, it is likely you won't be able to claim as it will be classed as a pre-existing condition. If you do make a claim it is possible that they will only cover payments for a set time eg 12 or 24mths. They will contact your doctor as well so be prepared for that. Again this should all be in your policy terms and conditions so take all your documentation to the CAB so they can check it over before you contact your insurance company. I used to work in insurance and most of them do honour genuine claims so try not to worry but do get all the advice and info you can before making your claim. Good luck x

If you were diagnosed before you took out the insurance it would count as a pre existing condition, so no they would not pay out.

I am unsure whether fibro counts on the insurance list, you could always ring anonymously and find out.
