Sat here at home putting up,last of Xmas cards, glass of baileys and looking forward to a day, with loved ones tomorrow.

If anyone wants to call by there will be a seat by the fire and a glass to be filled.Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

There are however folk who, will not be celebrating Christmas for one reason or another and we must keep them in our thoughts and prayers and help, them through it.- peace to you all.

2017 is just round the corner,so let's hope it's a good one for all of us.

Love to drop in but with a rubbish train service today I'll skip it :P

On my lovely day out yesterday I met a man who had just lost his job with a tied house and was sleeping in a café porch :(

That's ok fenbadger you can take a rain check.

What a sudden change in fortune for the chap you met yesterday.

Did he have to leave his home with immediate effect or given time to seek out alternative living arrangements?

It was a bit harsh just over Xmas.

Perhalps I should stop complaining, about my lot,in life. Its not that bad after all.

Take care.

Apparently not. There's a charity in Weymouth but clearly not enough resources. He sometimes sleeps in friends boats but in all this there's no heating. I gave him something but its nowhere near enough :(

didn't mean to get maudlin but this kind of thing does bring me up sharp. I had similar experience a few years ago and spent 3 months in a caravan - but at least I had heat, water and food.

Don't apologise for being maudlin.these sort of things happen ,and yes it does bring you up short You begin to take stock of your own position.

You gave him something to help him ,which was very kind of you to do so but what else could you have done to help him.?

Hopefully the charity can help him over the Xmas period untill he's able to get himself back on his feet again.

I feel so sorry for this mam.

That so weird you literally have my fireplace. I've just had a few glasses of champers totally ignoring the no alcohol on my tablet boxes. My belly is full and OH is busy in the kitchen washing up as we have our dinner early. I unfortunately am not a Xmas lover as too many bad things have happened to me and our families this time of year that it does not have happy associations. Had to spend half of yesterday with OH whilst he had an MRI scan but just thankful that unlike others I have a house and food or like my neighbour who is a widow and was married on Xmas day. Roll ups n 2017 as hopefully it might be a bit better than 2016. Love to all.x

Yep I pinched yours when you were not looking.!!!!

Fireplace looks a bit more festive one decs on it.

I have to say so many bad things have happened to me and my family, not just at Xmas but all times of the year but the ones at Xmas are the ones that are remembered most and are most poignant.

Hope all ok with oh after scan yesterday ,and yes unlike a lot of others we do have things to be grateful for.

Let's hope 2017 is going to bring us all better things.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
