After a very horrible fretting week and a terrible restless night just thinking of it I attended this morning at 09:00hrs and was met by a very lovely lady who was a Geordie and that set my mind at rest as I think all Northerners are like that. She told me not to worry and it was the DWP who wanted her to put a face to the problems that I had. She asked me a few questions and said she would not get me to do any physical things due to my stroke and heart problems as it would not be beneficial to her or me I was out at 09;20 and wondered what all the worry was for.
So relieved to have it over and done with To all that are about to attend Good luck. All the best Ian

I'm glad the assessment went ok for you Ian. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have a good outcome. Unfortunately, for many people it's a horrible experience, and they don't get an assessor who was as pleasant as yours. There are some, I had a nice one too and was with her for about 1 1/2 hours. I'm in the north too but I'm sure there are good ones around the country, but it seems like a lottery to find them.
Still you can relax now and hopefully have a good nights sleep. She sounded very understanding, so good luck.
Cheers lovey. I was after reading the bad stories here fretting like crazy and my mind was playing overtime. I was so lucky in that the assessor I had was a real diamond and as I said that Geordie accent made me feel comfortable and some how less on edge Now if it had been a posh one I would have gone to pieces.
So glad everything went well we were just like you really worried about the assessment after all the bad things we read but hubby had he,s this morning the assessor was a nurse about 50 she was really nice and explained everything so they are not all bad hope this can put other people at ease just have to wait for decision now fingers crossed good luck to everybody
So glad it was not too stressful for you. The whole process is bad enough as it is.
I was lucky too as the chap who did mine at the end of last month was lovely too. They are out there. He kept telling me to stop apologising for not coping well or fidgeting in my wheelchair. He even carried our stuff into the room and back out to the car again for us as he could see even my husband was struggling to cope with the wheelchair and everything.
Thanks for the compliment by the way as hubby is a Geordie and I'm a Mackum (but we currently live near Cheltenham). Though I'm sure there are friendly people wherever you go.
I have already had my result and was lucky enough to get enhanced for both straight away. I didn't agree with where all the points were given as for instance I scored nothing on cognitive abilities which is rubbish as I find that one of my most disabling symptoms. But as I got enhanced on both anyway I'm not rocking the boat.
Good luck with your results, hope you get it soon.
Hi Margaret so glad yours went well and you got your award so quickly I am just waiting for my letter as they have told me they have all the information required so fingers crossed.
