the only way to cope with fibro is to live one day at a time. I turn 60 in a couple of weeks and I still work part time,do all my own housework, cooking ,shopping and spend time with my elderly parents.
Not easy, but would like to share my coping skills wit you over time x

That's good avarose, it's all we can do isn't it. I'm 60 in August and still working part time but it's hard. I do feel so sorry for the youngsters who are suffering.
I'm 30, been a sufferer for 20 years already, but I work full time, I'm a single mum with a 6 year old and I'm also doing a business degree, not easy but it's definitely all about outlook and coping techniques.
I struggle with housework, this is my biggest downfall and one of the things that gets me down most of all, coing strategies for this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your post; i am 58 but things are very differant for me; i used to be like you able to pace myself and cope with daily life; but 3 years ago after a very nasty sickness; i nearly died, since then i have not return to my old self; i cannot hardly due anything anymore although i have had fibro for12 years; ME has got the better of me; i now rely on carers; some one to cook for me; i find it diffulcult even to manage to cope with washing etc... fibro can have adverse effects and patients symtoms and management vary between patients; i have even known 2 friends to recover completely; being positive does help; regards su
Hi su, sorry to hear how your fibro and ME has worsened. Do you ever treat yourself to a lovely back massage at a good salon? I had the first one in years yesterday and it was amazing.I get a lot of pain in my neck, shoulders and back. I had no pain for the rest of the day and enjoyed a lovely birthday meal with my best friend. It gives temporary relief but is such a wonderful boost,I am going for another one soon, really helps. regards Avarose
