Pip silly or what.

Hi as you all already know I have had to return my car. Done that now because I will get £2000 towards another one, but only if the car that you return is in tip top condition fair enough so done it yesterday didn't want to take anything to chance in next week or to .

I still haven't got a letter from DWP saying why,

The lady who made my decision rung me yesterday to say that the copy of the letter I sent to ATOS about how my assessment had been done had just landered on her desk.

That's 2 weeks after I sent it, she says for some reason they can't open my file on the computer, so she has had to go back into another department to get it. Ho well.

Any way top and bottom she said she's sending me a copy of the decision and a copy of the medical assessment, she told me that I could ask for a mandatory reconciliation when I have read the report, she was sorry that this had happened and she was writing to ATOS for a full explanation so I have to wait for that.

While I was on the phone I asked her why I had lost my car she told me the criteria has changed that because I can plan a jouney and carry it out I didn't fit the criteria, I told her that while yes I can plan a jouney to anywhere I would not drive to somewhere that I didn't know on my own because I might have a panic attack, but yes I would drive to anywhere I new. But I said why would I need a car if I can't drive to where I was going!

I find this very hard to understand I will be bringing this up with my MP.

And the next one was because I can get from a to b able it with a frame, stick, and cause pain that don't matter. If I couldn't get from A To B why would I need a car?

I can see I am going to have some fun with this and my MP.

Just have to wait now, but if not for myself for others as well, will carry on till the end.

I COULD UNDERSTAND IT MORE THAT I DIDNT GET A CAR BECAUSE I COULDNT PLAN AND MAKE THE JOUNEY. THE OTHER WAY AROUND IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

JUST LITTLE INFO IF ANYONES GOING FOR A ASSESSMENT.

Take care You all out there G

It is very disconcerting to read that you can't have a car because you can plan a journey what about a sat nav? Does that count as an aid.. I hope you get an explanation and also your mobility allowance

That was the explanation ho if you can use a sat nav I think you'd fail even more.

I will be asking my MP to look into it as what good is a car if you can't plan a jouney.

I get that some people need people to drive them cause they don't drive or can't due to illness.

I was and still not going to say that I can't plan a jouney there is Notting wrong with my head apart from I get brain fog and over tired Due to the pain. Then I dont drive at all.

My husband does more of it than me.

Anyway cars gone bought a second hand one with some help from family.

Take care G ps this is only the beging not the end.

Well, that made my brain hurt, you really couldn't make it up, good luck with pursuing this xx

Surely you would be d for the first sector and at least a B for the second giving you a total of 14 points 2 more than required for enhanced rate. Yes you can undertake a journey with the aid of an orientation aid which I presume is a sat nav but not plan one without as you would start to panic if you were half way through the journey and could not plot your route. Well that is how I see it from what you have said in your posts. It is all MAD isn't it. I reckon Motability will go out of business at this rate as so many cars will have to go back and with such a small allowance (I know some people would say 2000 is alot of money) but not when you need a vehicle that you can easily get in and out of, probablybautomatic and adapted.

Oh well praying that your appeal will be successful. X

Hiya

According to them there is no A or B just yes or no.

Don't even know how many points I have because they haven't sent a letter and they can't tell me over the phone because they can't opened my file.

But they can take my car.

I argued that yes I can plan a route but couldn't do a jouney to some where I don't know.

I told them I know my way to Manchester airport but wouldn't make the journey because I would panic.

She said my mum could do that but chosen not to because she don't like motorway. Not because of an illness.

There you go we will dot all eyes cross all t,s and just see.

Take care G

Just to explain in the mobility there are two section 1 and 2 and within these two sections the descriptors are lettered. Yes they are right in saying they would mark them as either applying eg yes or not applying eg no. If it is yes you would be awarded those points. In each section the points aren't cumulative so if you answer yes to two points in one section one giving 2 points and one 8 you would just be awarded the greater one eg 8. The greatest points from the two sections would then be added together to give you your final score for the mobility section. Just fingers crossed time to a good result.x

Yes I know that and I explained that to her yes I could plan a route but no I could carry it out.

I brought that up at the time but she said that didn't matter any more.

Same as for Part 2 now she said because I can get from A to B don't matter how I get there be it wheel chair stick or frame I can get there so I fail.

Don't understand it myself cause if I couldn't get to the car what's point of having one.

They just twist it to there benifit.

It's like the higher DLA you get that if you need help at night as well which I do but I was never asked I was never asked if I cook my own meals just if I new how a cooker and a microwave worked.

Like I brought up about my incontenace of my bowels she said she wasn't interested in that or how I got to the toilet only that once I was at the toilet could I sit on it and get back off it and nothing else she made this very clear so clear that I nearly got up and walked out.

Yes you don't get a car as you are able to use it. Perhaps that makes sense somewhere but not in my head. Do hope things work out for you.

The phrase 'going around in circles' comes to mind my friend. There does not appear to be any logic in their reasoning does there? I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hiya Ken

Don't know why but everything concerning me never goes straight forward.

Even operation I had that's why I back for another on 16th October.

Anyway we returned the car on Monday in tip top condition had my grandson clean it he works for car cleaning company at week end for pocket money he is 15.

My husband found a car on Saturday he had seen it on Thursday so went to look at it and bought it. Old v50 Volvo 2007 so I am not house bound at all, his mother helped us out till we get the £2000 thank goodness for families at times.lol

thanks for your kind and funny words.

I had my mobility payment reduced for the same reason because I can plan a journey, yes I can plan a journey and have to because of issues with my mobility I plan where I can go, plan if it's accessible for me, plan if I park my car can I get out (I have both knees replaced and degeneration in multiple points of the spine plus Spondilythesis which has fused so lack of movement). I thought this question was aimed at people with mental health issues not mobility all confusing!

Did you appeal and if you did what was the out come.

I wil be bringing this up with my MP.

Many thanks for comments.

Hiya bluebell

Yes I am appealing but can't do that until I get my letter saying what's what and a copy of the medical report.

Will keep you all informed and give you all a jIST of it all.

Infact I might take a photo of all the report and post it on here and YouTube.

Take care G

This no sense at all it gives you a headache to even think about it surely the question on planning journeys etc comes under mental health and the car is because you cannot walk distances etc without being in pain. What if you aren't driving but someone else is for you. I don't know who wrote the questionnaires but I think they need to try and fill them in themselves I know one question on one of the forms I never quite understand is are you awake when you are conscious or its are you conscious when awake it's written something like that and I know I just sat there trying to work out what they were talking about. They have made these forms do complicated and I've heard so many people lose money and yet I have someone who has nothing at all wrong and gets highest in both and that infuriates me especially when you see what he does.

Good luck with your appeal as I am sure that's what they want everyone to do. But if you win the appeal and have had the £2000 what happens about getting a car again? Does anyone know?

Take care thinking of you at this stressful time
