morning all, well ,spent yesterday evening filling in the dreaded forms. Which was fine, but not sure about the distance of walking question. As we all know, our mobility,is quite restricted some days, and other days it,s awful because of pain. But the form asks .how many metres?
Any advice on this please,.

The pip forms are no fun at all. I am an ex-pip medical assessor having done it for over 2 years.
Fibromyalgia is such a variable condition but thankfully it is recognisable by Pip.
In regards to all areas of daily living, you have to be affected for the majority of the time. There is a box that says variable if you feel that fits better. Whatever you highlight, you will be asked to go in for a face to face assessment. Explain your variability. People do have good & bad days but no one fits in a box. Your good days may actually be just a better day than normal. No one can say I can walk only 20 metres cos who actually measures metres, pip assessors acknowledge that. In you write up tell them how long it takes you to walk. 20 metres is walking around house, 20-50 is house to garden. 50-200 is further than hpuse/garden. You may well be able to walk 200 but you may not be able to walk that again that day due to symptoms etc, therefore it isn't repeatable or reliable. All the best x
Thanks for all your comments guys. Forms posted, fingers crossed, I actually think face to face assessments are so much better. Will let you know how I get in. X
