Hello All,
Just an update to my post from a few years ago called 'Do you need an Advocate? ' link below;
healthunlocked.com/fibromya...?
In our area, Andover Advocacy Alliance was set up in 1995 as part of Test Valley Community Services (TVCS) . In 2008 the Andover Advocacy Alliance was separated from TVCS and became an independent charity. In August 2011 Andover Mind took over the Andover Advocacy Alliance and formed the Andover Mind Advocacy Service.
Enham Trust has now taken over the management of the Andover Advocacy Service which has been operating in and around Andover for the past 20* years. This ensures an Advocacy Service continues in Andover and northern Test Valley. As you know, Advocacy gives a voice to vulnerable people (over 18 years) allowing them to have their say, enabling them to take control of their lives by helping them to resolve their issues and make their own decisions.
If you need an advocate and live in and around Andover, please email advocacy@enhamtrust.org.uk
(Andover & surrounding areas only)
Have you any Advocacy services in your area? It might be a good idea to find out as they can help with guidance to write claims for benefits and support you through the process.
Please Note: Any voluntary advocacy service you may have in your area may still be associated with your local MIND charity, if you have one. If you are in any doubt, please ask your local Citizen Advice Bureau about any local Advocacy Services.
Thank You for reading.
Emma
