Oh dear Tracy, I'm sorry, this is a rotten time for you, I had to do the same thing 10 years ago and it really is hard to come to terms with.

Is you heart monitor for some other condition ? I too have had one of those and was worried that they would pull off if I slept, but they are so good nowadays they can't do that. I do hope that it all turns out ok and am sending lots of positive healing vibes your way 😀

Foggy x

You are part of a helpful supportive community that will help with the transition into the new life, from personal experience the concerns will be well understood.

Sorry to hear that. I lost my job in Feb this year due to ill health. I was finding it increasingly difficult to function properly at work. I miss my collegues but I have found that although money is tight I dont feel so exhausted all the time. I still have fatigue but at least now I can nap when I need to. I had a blood pressure monitor on for 24 hours but not a heart one. Hope it goes ok for you. Gentle hugs Joolz.x

So sorry to hear that you have had to give up your job I have been there and worn the T shirt as have alot of others. Try to be gentle with yourself as in some ways it is like a bereavement especially if like me absolutely adored it. I raged against it instead of trying to accept that it was just not possible to continue and that for my health I just had to give up. I think mine was made worse as my OH had to give up his job a year before due to ill health but as Joolz says it is it a relief not to feel so exhausted.

It is also amazing how much money you can waste when you have a good wage coming in. I don;t think my OH and me realised how much convenience food, takeaways, clothes, luxuries we were buying that in fact with a simpler life we didn't need.

Yes I miss my colleagues in fact after not seeing her for about 6 months I am meeting up with my old Job Share partner tomorrow. She took on my job as well as hers and as she wanted to work full time I did her a great favour by leaving so what was bad for me did someone else a good turn.

Keep in touch with us and let us know how you get on with the heart monitor. Fingers crossed that it is nothing serious and that they are only doing it as a precaution.x

I've had a similar situation & am still coming to terms with giving up my vocation & career as a teacher of very challenging young people BUT..... I knew deep down it was untenable a while before I went off sick & kept battling on. I'm now just starting to accept it & try to look for the positives but it's taken 9 months to get to this point. Just staring CBT which I hope may help me change how I think / react / manage it all. I hope that you will find some peace & comfort from all these posts, it's so encouraging to hear we are not alone. Stay strong & accept it's meant to be, fate plays a strange part in our lives & Im much more thankful for the small things in life now than I ever thought possible. We still have a way to go but in sending you lots of positivity & hope your heart monitor goes well. Take care.
