P.i.p: Hi this is for people who are on... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
P.i.p
A decision from a Consultant or pip application?

I understand. Firstly, could take Specialist a couple of weeks to do the report (make sure you get a copy), unless he wrote it today for you.
Benefit claims vary very much from are to area and can take anything from weeks to many months. Generally you are asked to attend an assessment and from that they make decisions on your entitlement.
Wish you all well x
Hi Sophie,
Ah, understand now (:.
The assessment report goes through to DWP staff to make a decision.
It can take some time, but you may be lucky. If you don't hear in a month or so you could phone and ask.
Hope it went well for you x
Ok thank you very much it did go really well the women was a lovely amazing person and ano she's going to write me a good report. She understood everything and said she understand how hard it is for me and she said I'm a very strong person and thinks it's amazing how I'm still here and coped as I nearly lost my life not long ago. I really hope it gos ok for me too thank you so much for your support, usally I wouldn't talk on things like this because of my depression and aniexty but my friend recommended it to me and your all lovely so I feel better. The reason I applied for p.i.p is because I have a progressive case of m.s and I was diagnosed when I was 18 and just found out I was pregnant at the time but I had been suffering from the age of 16 without knowing I had it. I now have a healthey little one year old boy and he makes my life worth living otherwise I wouldn't feel the need to be here so thank god for my beautiful little boy x
Hi Sophiebell93
The waiting time is different all over the country as it is broken into regions. So it is not clear cut on how long anyone has to wait?
Good luck with your claim
Ken
Hi Sophie, so glad to hear you had a decent assessor, your experience sounds very similar to mine and it took about 2 months before i received the result.i now receive pip and it has helped enormously. Suprisingly, one of the best affects has been a slight improvement in the way i feel, due to not being under constant stress of trying to manage a tiny income. Did not realise how stressed i was until the stress went away, hoping for the result you need as soon as possible,
Sharon
hi I'm on pip and it took 3 months hope that's helpful x
A friend of mine had an assessment on january 7th and heard exactly a week later he had only waited 5 weeks from start to finish of his claim as well and was awarded to the highest rate in both even though he is capable of doing everything he has fitted hs own new kitchen and bathroom done is parents bathroom etc. I then have a friend who lives further away who applied in February last year had her assessment in on the 24th December and still hasn't heard a thing and is desperate. She uses a wheelchair at times and is really struggling so there is no telling how long you can wait for the results it seems to be very hit and miss.
I've got my assessment on the 30th of this month I'm really dreading it
I had my assessment on tues 6th January, was told 4 to 12 weeks for result but l got result the following Monday. ...4 working days....l was amazed as l regularly read about how slow the process is.
l got standard care but was turned down for mobility. ...sods law l was having a good rather than a bad day but am going to request it is reviewed. ....if turned down again not sure about appealing as don't want to risk losing what l have.,,,,
but no mobility no blue badge and l an finding parking and walking before l tackle shopping etc exhausting. ...often park in mother and child as need the space to open the door fully in order to get out of car
I only waited 2 weeks
