I've always had a lot of chest pain, Costochondritis, was my first symptom so I'd think it more than likely?...........x

Hi GiGi, and welcome to our forum, which I consider to be the best informed and the most friendly and supportive one on the web. Perhaps you would like to take a peep at our mother site fibroaction.org where you will find a lot of very useful information and links.

You mention pain around your lungs, some people with Fibro are unfortunate enough to have a condition called Costochondritis and here is a link to where you can find out a little more about the condition, hpatient.co.uk/health/costoc... though I strongly urge you to speak with your GP about this as diagnosis from anywhere really needs to come from them or from specialists.

I much look forward to seeing you around the forums and am sending healing vibes your way :-)

Thanks, I have read quite a lot about fibro after being fobbed off that this is the way my body reacts when I'm run down , coz of collapsed lung last July, my arms actually ache writing this I have pain in shoulders shoulder blades back mainly right around my lung ! Had blood tests and X-Ray not long ago , lung ok , my legs ache, like I could just fall to my knees, hip hurts bum numb like nerve pain , my fore arm was really sore like I had a mega bruise but there was nothing and can't remember banging it, then it went ! I can't stand loud noise I get so stressed and fumin , like mental inside , also I have migraines, my back is sore almost all the time , and weirdly I can't relax my jaw especially at night , I cried when I read all this about fibro as I think I've suffered a long time with it , does it sound like I have it I am also miserable , a kill joy and moody , feel like crying coz I have to make the tea ! .

Hi again :-) all the things you mention do tie in with Fibro but can I ask if you have asked your GP about a proper diagnosis or a possible referral to a rheumatologist. There are trigger point tests and other things that a GP should know about if you were to ask, if he/she doesn't then it might be good to get a second opinion or as I mentioned a referral.

Everyday tasks can seem more than one can cope with when you are flaring, so you have my complete understanding and sympathy on that one. I'm lucky I only have me to worry about and a couple of small terrier doglets who don't require a cooked meal, so it's not too bad, I'm not under any pressure to come up with meals on a regular basis.

Take care, and wipe away those tears, with our help I am sure you will gain confidence :-) :-)

Hi GiiG

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcoem to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I would have to say that you can have Fibro pain wherever you have muscle and tissue, so it can hurt quite badly around the chest and lung area.

However, I would discuss this issue with your GP or Medical Specialist just to get Costochondritis ruled out of the equation.

Al my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
