I am wondering if anyone can help me. I am finding that in the evenings I am suffering with mini flares. (Not every evening) sometimes it starts gradually with pain in my legs and arms etc. Then gradually the pain gets more and more intense until I am in tears with the pains. Other times like last night for example up until 9pm I felt tired but pain was ok. Then I came upstairs and it was like I had just injured myself in some way, the pain was terrible. I could barely walk to the loo.
I have had restless legs before but this wasn't that I am sure, my knee and ankles were the main pain areas then slowly the rest of my body started to hurt. What's going on ? I think I am going mad and that I am just a hypochondriac

A lot of fibro sufferers find that their symptoms are worse at one particular time of day, especially evenings.
The trick is to be well-prepared and take some pain relief a couple of hours in advance, so that the pain doesn't really get chance to floor you.
I have also found that trying to take a little exercise before this time seems to lessen the impact of the pain - a gentle stroll followed by a warm shower seems to help to prevent evening pain from developing, and making sure that you are in your 'lounging clothes' in good time. I take off anything tight or restrictive like bra, belt, tight waistbands etc. and put on soft leggings or 'jamas.
Finally, make sure that you have had enough water to drink during the day. Evening pain is often associated with dehydration, which will make it ten times worse, so try to keep the drinks going.
If these simple remedies don't help you, then I'm afraid it's back to your GP, but hopefully you will improve
Thanks for the reply. I will give this a go and see how I get on. My husband does say I don't drink enough so that could well be part of the problem. As for pain relief I will try changing the times I take it and see if it helps. Exercise? What sort of thing do you do ? I never know what's best. A walk or something more? As for the comfy clothing I do think that will help as last night I was in agony trying to get changed even though my husband was helping me .
Exercise is difficult for us fibromites. Do what you can manage is the answer. Frequent gentle mobility is better than the occasional long session which will leave you shattered. Personally, I find that gentle walking followed by some ballet stretches does the trick for me, or even 'cat stretches' - literally lying on your bed and stretching as you have seen cats do.
