baseline scan

hello hello, I’m starting round 3, long protocol, and went into it feeling positive after months of eating healthy, exercise, acupuncture, all the supplements etc.

Just had my baseline scan and the clinic is happy for me to start stims today, which is good. But now I’m feeling bummed that they only saw 3 andral follicles. I know the number can vary from cycle to cycle (in previous rounds I’ve at least had more to start with) and that each can contain 0/1/2 eggs, but I can’t help feeling defeated before I’ve even started.

The nurse said sometimes more can come through and we’ll only know next week at the next scan. I’m going to start quite a high dose of GonalF and then Meriofert so hopefully that will really get them going.

Has anyone seen more follicles come through after the baseline scan or is this the best I can hope for? The clinics minimum is 3 to even proceed to egg collection so I’m feeling nervous already.

So frustrating after all that work!

I had a baseline scan where they only saw 6 follicles (it was my 4th collection and all previous ones had been more like 12 - 18)

I was considering cancelling and waiting for the next month but I carried on with the meds and the next scan showed a total of 12 follicles - so there must have been some ones that were teeny and hiding. (I was also on Gonal F and Meriofert)

My advice would be to wait for the 2nd scan - if you're not happy with the number then have a chat with them then.

I also had 6 follicles at baseline and 11 eggs retrieved - maybe depends on who is doing the scan? Xx

I had 4 follicles at baseline scan. Only 1 doing anything after a week on stims and at my first scan. A week later after reflexology and lots of water/protein, I had about a few more recruited and finished with 7 potential follicles. Try not to stress 🙏🏿
