I just wanted to ask regarding low-dose aspirin during the two week wait I’ve heard many stories that this is quite successful as it brings blood flow to the uterus. I am having my last embryo transfer in a few weeks time and I want to ensure I’m trying to have a successful pregnancy.
Can you ladies please tell me which aspirin you used which had successful pregnancy outcomes so I know which one to order?
Also, is this completely safe during implantation phase and early pregnancy? Last thing I want to do is take any risks!

I was advised not to take aspirin while in my tww, so I think it depends on your circumstances/personal issues. I definitely wouldn't take it unless your clinic suggests it. There's no harm in asking them about it though. Good luck 😊 x
Oh really? I will ask but I have heard so many success stories so was thinking of taking it for my 2nd transfer in a few weeks xx thanks for your advice though I’ll look into the good and bad xxx
hello! I plan to take it for my next transfer in a few weeks. The dose is 1x75mg a day. It’s a low dose. I’ve not used it for a transfer before either, but it has been recommended by my clinic and other professionals.
I recommend giving drtimchild a follow on Instagram if possible. He works for the HFEA and was an IVF doctor for 30years - well worth a follow! Watch his videos in particular as people like us have asked him lots of questions, just like this! I believe he’s also releasing some content on implantation failure soon, which will be useful 😊

I was prescribed 75mg from the same day I started progesterone. I was told it had something to do with being 40 and over. Used it In two FETs, both failed.
Aww I’m so sorry to hear this.. I suppose we can’t say it was due to the aspirin.. many reasons can cause a pregnancy / implantation to fail.. are you still trying? Xx if you are best of luck I hope it works out for you xx
Thank you. I think what I am trying to say is that from my experience the aspirin is not given to help implantation and it probably doesn't . The clinic said it's for some preventative reason. I had many transfers, the aspirin was prescribed for the last two, only after I turned 40. Of these two the transfers one was OE embryo so yeah likely embryo quality issue and the second was DE embryo so supposedly good quality.
I am 40 just turned on the last Saturday. This second frozen transfer as I’ve heard a lot of success stories. In my last transfer, I had a lot of clots so hopefully it will be good for me. Thank you so much for all your advice. Xxx
I took one 75mg aspirin a day on my successful FET after two early losses on prior fresh transfers. I asked the consultant about it before and he said he wouldn't prescribe it as I didn't have a blood clotting issue and in any case if I did there are better meds. But he said he had no issue with me taking one a day if I wanted to as in his view it wouldn'tmake any difference and wouldn't do any harm. I've since had another pregnancy (natural) which I didn't know about until quite late so wasn't on aspirin, so given that worked without being aspirin he was probably right that it didn't make any difference the first time. You do need to check with your clinic though and then with midwives if your transfer works as it can cause bleeding for some people (you have to stop taking it before birth for example due to bleeding risk).
Hi thanks for your reply. Yes, I will check with my clinic. I have a feeling they will say for me not to take it, but I feel like there’s more success stories than not and this is my last embryo transfer so I’m being very over-the-top with what to take and what not to take! I’m just worried if this transfer doesn’t work I don’t really have any other chances! Do you remember which aspirin brand you were taking? I swear there’s all these different brands when I look online.Xx
I just assumed aspirin was aspirin tbh and just took whatever was in the shop (usually pharmacy or supermarket own brand as they were about 30p!) Have you had a discussion with the clinic about progesterone? That was also something we changed for the successful FET - again could have been chance but it was another of those can't do any harm/have too much ones so I was on loads.
Ah OK I will look into the aspirin. I would think aspirin would just be aspirin as well xx in regards to progesterone, I’ve actually had an issue so basically my first fresh transfer failed and my husband reminded me that less than two years ago I had a blood test when I started these fertility checks and it came back that my progesterone levels were low. They were at 9 whereas the doctor said they should be 15 or more to be normal. So they another did blood test in the following month and it was more normal so that was good. They still referred me to a gynecologist and he put me on Clomid for 6 months while trying to naturally get pregnant, although I didn’t fall pregnant, they did say that I responded very well to Clomid I ovulated very, very well which was good to hear. It was then when my IVF process started. For my second round, frozen and re-transfer the Doctors is putting me on x3 Cyclogest recital pills a day and x1 Lubion injection daily. I specifically asked for the Lubion injection as I’ve heard good things about it. The clinic told me that I will be more than enough progesterone now so I’m hoping that that is going to be sufficient! Xx
That's good re progesterone. It may be worth asking your clinic to test your levels on the day of transfer just to make sure you're absorbing it properly but that sounds like more than enough x
Hi my clinic said they do not check progesterone levels how silly right as I have struggled with low levels so I’d expect them to at least check for my peace of mind - I am looking into getting it checked privately.. which days does it need checking? Just FET day? Also there’s at home finger prick ones but not sure if they are even accurate! Xx
Lots of clinics don't - mine only just started to. Normally you get it checked on the day of transfer but I don't think it would matter a day or so either side of that. I've also had it repeated a few days later to see it's rising. I've used the finger prick ones (Medichecks) and they were accurate and a really good service, just you may be a bit delayed getting the results back as you have to post them, and they don't test over a weekend.
