Delaying FET

Has anyone taken a break between fresh transfer & FET?

I'm due to have mine in my May period but don't feel mentally ready yet. It's also my son's 2nd birthday mid-May & I want to focus my attention on him & not worrying about meds & lining thickness lol.

I want to be in the right frame of mind & give it my all & by doing it so soon I don't think I'll be doing that.

The reason I feel rushed is my low AMH but I also believe if it's going to happen it will so a few months won't make a difference. I only have one frozen embryo & if it fails I'll be starting a fresh round after 3 months on DHEA.

Hiya, I waited 2 months to start my next round as it clashed with a holiday and then Christmas. And after 2 miserable Christmas's with bfns I just couldn't face it again.

I've been at ivf 2.5 years now and it impacts every single thing so sometimes you just have to put yourself first and squeeze some fun out of life, then go when you're ready. Few months won't make a difference.

Hope that helps xx

Just wanted to wish you good luck when you restart treatment Good idea to have time out - you will feel the benefit of it Enjoy the wee one's birthday

I'm doing the same. I had a chemical pregnancy following FET in Feb and have decided to wait until end of summer to try again with our final embryo. It's my little girls birthday in June and I'm just fed up of putting life on hold while we put ourselves through this, I'm just not mentally ready to go through it all again yet. I personally think a positive mindset is really important when doing anything IVF. A few months won't make any difference. Good luck when you do decide your ready

Hi, we have had a break since our March FET with BFN, we just needed to reset to find motivation and maybe not stress the whole year about transfer, meds etc, we planned a holiday by the end of May and we just wanted to enjoy it too without all this fuss. We probably will start preparing for the next FET in June/July.

If you don't feel ready, follow your gut, sometimes it is better to take a longer break instead of pushing yourself towards something so mentally and physically straining like fertility treatment.

I wish you good luck

Look after yourself! And don’t fret. I had embryos frozen last Nov, got OSHH, and took months to recover. We went for FET in March and all OK. Waited till I felt well enough to take it on, and went on holiday too. You’ll know when you’re ready for the FET, and trying to remove the stress will help. Go live a little, you’ll thank yourself for it :-)
