intralipids or steroids for final embryo!

hello, looking for some advice. We are having our final embryo transferred in April. We are going to introduce blood thinning injections, steroids and or possibly intralipids. However this is an NHS round so we are only allowed to add these in on a self funded basis after transfer. Just wondered if anyone has done the same, I see usually these would be started a few days before transfer. Unfortunately, the NHS funding will not let us add in any self funded extras at all, so our only option is following the transfer. I will also have increased progesterone. I’d appreciate any advice, we just want to throw everything we can at this last shot. Was also thinking of acupuncture but as I will be on aspirin and blood thinning injections not sure if this would be advisable? Xx

hello, wishing you lots of luck for your transfer.

I’m currently on all the drugs you’ve mentioned above except for aspirin and I’m in the early stages of pregnancy after previously having 4 transfers. (Although I’m having a rough ride with bleeding at the moment)

I started a few days before transfer. It might be worth looking at private intralipids. I’m currently with a private ivf provider but while I was still with the nhs I was given the name of nurse led intralipids clinic near Birmingham who gave me them before my transfer. Let me know if you would like me to message you the details.

All the best x

Hello and thank you for your reply. Also massive congratulations! I do hope the bleeding sorts it self out for you. This will be our 4th transfer, and our last embryo. I live in Suffolk so may be slightly to far but if you could pass on the details it could be helpful if that’s my only option. Did you also start the bloody thinning injections and steroids before transfer? The NHS funding wont even let me have them self funded til after the transfer, so frustrating when it could be what we need to work . I am also booked in for a scratch tomorrow - we had one for the last transfer with lubion injections (from transfer) and we got our first positive but unfortunately was a chemical pregnancy. xxx

Sending you lots of love for your journey. I had another egg collection and it was a fresh transfer but these were my dates:

Intralipids 1 week before egg collection

aspirin 2 weeks prior to egg collection and stopped the day before egg collection

Steroids 10mg started 7 days before egg collection then increased to 20mg two days after egg collection

blood thinner injection 2 days after egg collection.

I’m sure we are all put on slightly different protocols but this is what I was given.

I’ll pm you the details for intralipids xx
