melatonin day 5

hey - merry Christmas everyone. Hoping everyone manages to find some serenity! Does anyone have any idea why melatonin is recommended to be taken on day 5 specifically on the period before ivf? I have a short period (2-3 days 4 at most and a 25 day cycle) wondering if I should take it slightly earlier ? Thanks 😊

Merry Christmas! It Starts with the Egg recommends 1mg for 3 months or 3mg for 1 month, but I haven't heard of taking it from Day 5 of the previous cycle, maybe it doesn't matter when you start... as melatonin as an antioxidant is said to help mitigate the oxidative damage on eggs?

Yeah that’s why you only take it for ivf not trying naturally x
