Activities during 2ww - how careful are you about attending social events etc?

Hello, I've got an FET coming up and am on steroids for this one. I've got a few planned activities which involves a gig which I'd loved to go to but I'm just not sure its worth the risk with COVID still about, especially if my immune system is slightly dampened with the drugs. Wondering what other people are doing around COVID, I feel like it still dominates a lot of my life with treatment, after such a long prep time for this FET I know I'd be devastated if i had to cancel because of testing positive. I also just want to ensure i give myself the best possible chance of success with this embryo transfer during the 2ww. At the same time it is nice to have some things to keep busy. Any guidance on the balance with these things? I'm nearly 39 - just mentioning as it feels like any delays are increasingly significant as you get older.

Oh it's so difficult isn't it, as you want to keep going on as normal and enjoy yourself without all of it taking over, but also want to do everything you can to improve chance of success as we have so little control over most of this process. We have been carrying on with most things (weekly dance classes and social dancing, meeting with friends etc) but avoiding large gatherings (say 20+ people), and found it a reasonable compromise. People are different in terms of the level of risk they want to take though. I know for me and my mental well-being it is so important to keep connected and doing things I love.

Good luck for the next FET, have all my fingers crossed for you 🤞🙏

thanks for taking the time to reply. That seems like a decent balance and good to quantify it in the mind. I like having a set of guidelines to follow personally 😂😂.

so you only need to be really careful and restful for the first three days… then just take it easy for the rest of the 2ww. Going to a gig could be good for your mental health but I have to admit I’d be worried about getting pushed or something like that. However during my last 2 ww I thought I’d go to a yoga class thinking it would be relaxing. It was anything but - difficult and fast paced apparently like hot yoga but without the heat. I was really worried I’d totally overdone it. Well I hadn’t - as that was the one that resulted in pregnancy. So as you can see - it’s entirely up to you. Good luck 🤞
