Hello fighters, can someone please explain her experience with degenerated eggs after retrieval? I was on low-dose Clomid only 50 mg from day 5 till day 9. I have three follicles that looked great but today only one was good and two were empty. After one hour the embryologist called me and told me that there won't be fertilization because the egg or the oocyte has degenerated. Now I wait for a response from the doctor and think what to do next. I am 35 years old with diagnosing unexplained infertility.

degenerative oocytes after egg retrieval
Typical reasons1) Eggs are "overmature" and cooked too long before retrieval (doesn't seem likely given your stated protocol)
2) Your egg quality is poor, i.e. may related to the underlying infertility issues. Sometimes this is one-off and can be corrected and you can go on to have success. Sometimes this is your "diagnosis" for "unexplained."
3) The protocol isn't a good one for you. Some fertility protocols have bad interactions with certain infertility issues.
Sad news, but may be a great step to getting answers?
Good luck!
Hope you hear from the Doctor soon so he can explain what your next step will be
Good luck
Janet
I received cetrotide on the day of the trigger shot and that day my follicles were more then 21 mm. And two were stick one to each other. I suppouse two days later the sticky one could not be saved and the other one was over mature.
