My NHS funding is going to finish soon so I’m deciding on what’s next.
Did anyone with failed NHS funding IVF rounds move onto private? What happened to your Frosties in storage? Were you able to move it for transfer if you need to at private clinic?
I’m being offered a fresh round on NHS while I still have some frosties left. Would you do another Stim just to save the cost of EC in my situation and then move onto private treatments?

We were charged an admin fee of about £150 to move ours to a private clinic for treatment....it was a good bit of paperwork and consent forms so good to do it far in advance of when you want treatment.
We only got one round and one fresh transfer on the NHS. When that ended in a chemical we went private although we have a frostie left at the NHS clinic. It's not too expensive to store on the NHS (cheaper than private) and our NHS clinic offered a private service where we can pay to transfer that frostie in future if we want to so we're just going to keep it there until we need it.
Thank you Mrs Orangejuice. Our NHS clinic also offers private transfer too but I’m just not happy with their approach of no investigation until further fails.. I just thinking I’m wasting more embies without knowing what’s wrong with me. Knowing that cost of transfer frostie is not expensive I think I’ll take the offer of a fresh cycle and make more embies for future use.
So my understanding of an NHS round is that you get an egg collection fresh transfer AND transfer of any and all subsequent frozen embryos being classed as ONE nhs round (unless you no longer meet the criteria due to age or having a child etc). Just checking you defo don’t have entitlement to transfer your Frosties for free there?
You can move your embryos no problem or most nhs clinics you can also self fund for a frozen transfer there and then move clinics if that doesn’t work xx
I think you are right. I don’t remember exactly how many transfers (I think it’s 3 that im entitled to) but they said 2 round of egg collections. I checked a new document of CCG for central London where my NHS clinic is part of, it said 3 rounds and 6 transfers, which definitely not right for me. I’ll need to confirm next time I meet them. Yes storage is free for the first year.
