Job interviews during the crucial time

Hi,

My three cycle failed with one embryo only so I have started recently my fourth IVF cycle and stimulation starts in couple of days. All of sudden, at my work, one of my manager is encouraging me to apply for more senior role which will have good financial benefits with more responsibilities.

Normally, the opportunity doesn't come often, so I feel like go for it, of course preparing for technical interview is not going to easy. And, this will be near the time of egg collection/embryo transfer.

I am in dilemma to what to do? so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

If I don't apply and cycle fails again then I will be devastated. Loosing at all front feeling.

If I apply, I will get opportunity to sit in the interview which would be good experience even if I don't pass the interview; I might get chance to choose for the secondment!

Though, if I apply and offered position and cycle gets successful with embryo transfer then am I putting my self in more risk of the TWW going wrong? And early pregnancy and new job new team members- which is like going out of my comfort zone of my supportive team and leading a new team!

I don't know how the adrenaline hormone could impact the cycle.

I appreciate it's my choice but life was on hold for a long time and everything is coming at the same time. So, please help me to decide what do you think is the best way to go forward, would you apply for the job? or rather be in the same team?

I don't want to risk my healthy baby at any cost, to be honest!

Many thanks

I personally would go for it, I’ve spent the last 7 years putting my life on hold for TTC stuck in a dead end job I hate! One of my biggest regrets. Crack on and live your life. You have coped with 3 rounds of IVF you can cope with anything xx

I made a rule for myself to just got for it with things like this during IVF. There’s no guarantee and I hate the idea that everything else falls to the side. The new job might just be what you need and give you a new drive! All those positive hormones can only be good for you!

I second Daisy - I would go for it. I also put my life on hold for way too long and I didn't even get a happy ending . You will be good! xxx

I would say go for it. I recently got a new job although knew I was starting another cycle. Had similar worries but just went for it. I had been stuck waiting for so long it has been so good seeing what else I can do!! Good luck 💜
