TWW - should I avoid getting nails done

Hi,

I have my FET in a couple of weeks. Just wanting some advice / views. Do people get their nails done whilst in the TWW or just completely avoid?

I would personally avoid this due to the chemicals but that may be me just being overly cautious and a worrier x

I carried on getting my nails done throughout my IVF treatment and pregnancy. It’s safe to have done whilst pregnant so I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t have it for a frozen transfer xx

I agree with skittles11, I loved getting my nails done but since I started this journey, I stopped not worth risking it xx

I carried on getting my hair done throughout and had my nails done a few times, although I can't remember if this was during a 2ww (probably not, but not purposefully). Not something I would have even thought about, but if something doesn't work with your FET, it's whether now it is on your mind you'll then feel bad about it, even if realistically it probably had no impact whatsoever. Just for that it may not be worth it x

That’s my exact worry! If I don’t get the result I’m praying for then will I then start to worry that I may have affected my chances due to getting them done. This journey is just FULL of questions, worries and second guessing!! Thank you for your reply xx

I got my nails and eyelash extensions done on the 2ww that worked but I only get a manicure with my own nails, I personally wouldn’t have gotten acrylics due to the chemicals, it might be best to put it off for a week or so so you don’t beat yourself up about it as once somethings in your head it can be a nightmare lol xx

Totally!! I only get gel on my own nails. I don’t get acrylic but even still I don’t think I want to risk it only due to the fact I’ll blame that as a factor even though it probably wouldn’t have been if we don’t get our positive! Thank you xx
