Surprise blood results!!!

After my early scan on Jan 6th where there is no fetal pole detected, doc asked for some blood work to check bhcg.

But mc started later in night and started passing everything the next day that is today from 8 am to 4 pm .literally every hour.

To my surprise my IVF clinic calls and informs me that - my hcg is 25,000 which is very good and see u in a week for another scan. It never happened to me, anyway informed them that I started to mc after the scan soon after taking my oripro. But nurse still advised that bleeding is common, to her surprise I said that I already passed everything and my mc might finish by evening. Anyway booked me tomorrow for blood test but not sure can go as I still mc.

Can mc happen such sudden?with good hcg and without stopping oripro? It's a sudden shock to me!!!!

Hi Same0508,I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. It must be horrible! Did the doctors mention at all that you might have an ectopic pregnancy? That's what happened to me in the past. I started to bleed but HCG was high and they couldn't see any fetal pole so they said its PUL (pregnancy of unknown location). I had to go back for HCG check in 2 days as if it's not doubling but raising or staying roughly the same it means you might have an ectopic pregnancy. My story had a bad ending really as they couldn't spot the location of it at all, I was on meds to "kill" it but at the end I ended up in emergency surgery as the embryo ruptured my tube. My HCG levels were much lower then yours but....maybe it's worth asking do they even consider ectopic pregnancy?

But doc can see my embryo in scan the day before my mc...can it still be ectopic?

Aaaah, I got confused, thought they didn't see it at all. I guess that should rule ectopic pregnancy out. In my case they couldn't see anything.

Hi thanks dear you are so sweet!!!I'm okay but really shocked with sudden mc. Although I felt something is wrong at 5 w 4 d. I sensed that baby is not growing or no heartbeat compared to my other viable pregnancies at that stage earlier. Expected mc 2 weeks later after stopping oripro!!!! My progesterone is also good my reports says!!!! It's my 4th mc!!!

Yeap, unfortunately most often our feelings are right 😞 When do you have another check up?

I'm so sorry to hear that, it must be devastating. Did they do any extra tests for you because of recurrent mc? I had one ectopic and 2 mcs and I had extra tests which came all back normal in my case which supports the theory that embryos were not good enough. 😐

Hi...I was asked to come yesterday but I still mc..you know how it will be I literally on toilet Everytime I pass....i need to rebook on Monday for bloods to check hcg.....

my hubbys sperm quality is good,both karyotype test results are good, and our embryos are super graded....I really don't know why baby is not growing in my womb... my diagnostic laproscopy before IVF was good I had only one blocked fallopian tube which is very thin in structure said that it didn't grow enough....Hope this year I get success. Meanwhile every day every meal I'm having is just becoming very pure like no artificial things....just real. That's what I have to do change lifestyle.

Let's hope you will just miscarry it all now, without any further complications. Sad as it is, we need to look for any positives in our stories.

Great all those things you checked and are all good! But what about screening your blood for NK cells, antiphospholid screen, inherited tendencies to blood clots (factor V Leiden and prothrombin gene), Protein C? Did they check those for you?

Hi Same. Oh dear! I feel you need to go back tomorrow in case you may have an ectopic pregnancy. You need verification as to what is going on. Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane
