Telephone consultation

Hey ladies.... I had a letter come through today regarding a telephone consultation. I only had my referral done a few weeks ago so this was great news. Does anyone know what this consultation entails? I had a bfp nearly 2 years now and want to try again for a sibling. I will be doing a fet or maybe even fresh to get some embabies... not sure yet. Just wanted an idea of what they’ll do on this consultation in February. Also, does my partner need to be on the call to as I’m conscious il probably be at work. Thank you in advance xx

Hi Destiny,

That's fab news & very exciting!

Can you give us a little more information? Presumably it's private treatment as most (if not all) CCGs/health boards won't fund fertility treatment if you already have a child. Did the clinic already give you an idea of timescales from referral to starting your first cycle? If not, consultation is a brilliant place to ask as many questions as you need to settle your mind about the process.

Sorry you're struggling to conceive, it's just the most heart wrenching situation and really hoping you get some good news soon! Xx

Hi lovely... I had a successful round on the nhs but will now be private... I’ve got some frozen embies at the same nhs clinic.... so was going to use the same hospital xx

Ah, that's perfect! Given you have success previously (congrats!) 💖 hopefully you'll have built up a good level of trust with that clinic from before & you can start off on a positive note from your consultation.

There are loads of women here who are undergoing private treatment who should be able to advise asap but just wanted to stop by to wish you luck & hoping this bumps your post so others can help out. My nhs consultation (although you already know) was short & discussed our test results & previous success or failures and what we can do next to give the best chance of successful pregnancy.

Have you had any recent scans? Confident you don't have any tube blockages or fibroids etc? Sending lots of luck xx

Thank you for your help and just to refresh my mind I just had a quick glimpse of your story and can see we have similar journeys... when you starting your cycle? Have you got a date now? I haven’t had any scans yet and I sincerely hope a hydro hasn’t come back as the thought of surgery again😬😬

Thanks, that's really thoughtful of you. It's a strange old journey this one isn't it! I'm 2 weeks post-op right now so just waiting for my period to call & book treatment. I'm long protocol so this means I'm still sticking to the 6 week recovery before stims, as advised by my surgeon 🙂 not long to go!

Could you request a scan at your consultation, letting them know you're a little anxious based on history and would like reassurance that all looks well asap? I know exactly what you mean, the idea of surgery or delays is yuck right now! Is your appointment really soon in the new year? Xx
